Is it somehow not applicable to New York homosexuals? Wow that attire is horrible

It sickens me to see people in love commit to be there for each other in good times and in bad.

They are gay, what would they know about commitment! Something, something, Jesus, something, something, bullshiat.

OK, am I the only one who gets all teary-eyed at pictures of old gay couples?

I don't know what it is. There's something so tender and moving about it. I guess when I see an old gay couple I have this whole narrative in my head that they lived their whole lives as a lie, before finally finding true love in the final act. It's so storybook.

Scuse me... *SOB*

Sadly, your grandkids will probably not have to ask you.

I can point you to a recent study where ~40% of Mississippi republicans STILL think interracial marriage should be illegal.

I can assure you those types will still be around for your grandkids to marvel at.

You're not alone. Love that endures always gets me. But love that endures when the world is against it, as it was for most of these people's lives? Yeah, that makes me a big, soppy mess. And the fact that they finally lived long enough that they can come out in the sun and show us? It makes me equally sad that they had to hide for so long, and glad that, at last, we're doing what we always should have been doing.

For me, I think it's also moving because for so long we were taught that being gay was "a phase" or just about sex and not about lasting relationships. Seeing older gay couples proves that wrong and provides us with an example - something gays have not often had.

Anyone whose heart isn't done good by this needs their head examined. All I see here is love, and there's precious little of that going around in the world these days.

In Mass, you know what happened after marriage equality happened?

People got married. They got married, they bought houses together, they were already adopting kids, they already had dogs and cats together, they registered for their showers and wedding parties, they booked honeymoons, they booked halls for their weddings, and people got the f*ck over it, and oddly enough, church attendance got boosted in those ministries that supported marriage equality.

If you don't want to have same sex weddings in YOUR churches, go for it. I fully support you in that. That's your church, that's your business, but maybe you should extend the same courtesy to others...

My brother and sis-in-law got married in casual attire in a courthouse. Both outfits have been worn again. You can't really do that with a wedding dress.

Weddings are supposed to be special, and these people were the first homosexuals in NY to get married. They are part of history. Forgive me if I sound old fashion, but when I picture gay weddings, I want to see it in a church in proper gowns. That is how you stick it to the haters.

The only negative I've seen from legalized gay marriage is that our pride parades are very boring now. Instead of beautiful men half naked and oiled and glittery, we get churches, school LGBT clubs, politicians and famlies with strollers and Labradors.

I get it. First off, conservatives seem to believe deeply all stereotypes. The more degrading and more bigoted the more strongly they hold on to and profess them. Based on this premise, they believe that all gays are super promiscuous, philandering, non-stop-bare-back sex fiends. To these hateful asshats it simply goes without saying that gays are not able to and never commit. And even when they supposedly do commit, they are still humping everything that has a pulse and a dick. These views have evolved from a few things. a) since gays can't get pregnant, sex is obviously worry free, and since it's worry free they must be doing it all the time. b) they view *simply* being gay, having non-procreative sex, and most of all have gay sex as all being deviant, sinful and amoral. c) because gays are defacto amoral they must be going out of their way all the time to sin, in order to be wicked. To explicitly spit in God's face.
Secondly, conservatives themselves (at least the most homo-phobic, and outspoken) have a very difficult time being monogamous and faithful both in spirit and in action. So if you combine the loudmouth conservatives beliefs that being gay is a life of non-stop unfaithful sex acts and their own difficulties in faithfulness.
They (conservatives) believe, without a doubt, that being married would mean nothing to someone who is gay. That being married is simply a means to upset conservatives and shove in their face that they now have something that is supposedly "just for a man and woman". They assume that gays will be breaking their vows as soon as they leave the altar, and as such they shouldn't be married because they can't be trusted to take monogamy, respect, commitment and love seriously. This being the case, gays shouldn't be married because it just cheapens what being married means.

Now before all y'all get all up and in my grill, ask yourself if these bigoted loudmouth assholes even consider gays to be real people, or do they consider gays to be lesser people. Not whole, trustworthy, honest and loving people but both second class citizens and lesser, evil sub-humans. Not unlike how early Americans felt about Native Americans, and then (and still =/) the blacks, and then the Irish, and now the Mexicans.

Consider the things that conservatives say, the way they think and act and how they treat and view their fellow man, and tell me I'm not wrong about why they are so against gay marriage.

\also they think gay sex is icky... unless it's the dick in their mouth, just that one time, because they are totally not gay, they just can't get people to stop sticking dicks in their mouths.
\\Yes, I'm serious about this whole post, and am absolutely disgusted with conservative behavior and wish they actually acted like the savior they proclaim to follow and who's name they only use to justify hatred.
