I realize that that means free blacks but you can virtually own them with debt to their employers so it is not really any different plus you can say you support FREEDOM |

The question on every American's lips this morning is: Can Romney dance? |
||
| randomjsa
Why yes, be a moderate like Dole and McCain, that worked so well. |

| Rapmaster2000
I think the should go to the left, then to the right, then dip, then slide, and finally let the voters see that tootsie roll. |

The Tea Party and Bible Pounders will be the downfall of the republican party. When you allow the extreme fringes to embrace ignorance with an end result that is counter to fiscal conservatism and small government in order to appease their narrow world views you end up with a ship sailing alee and a liberal elitist empty suit like Romney at the wheel. |

randomjsa: Why yes, be a moderate like Dole and McCain, that worked so well. Romney need to prove his conservative credentials and reject the Ryan budget as too liberal. Eliminate taxes entirely on the Job Creators. Kick all the leeches off Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. |

I realize they don't understand, but Senator McCain tried this in the 2008. The United States is a pretty conservative country, but not enough that you can dismiss your moderate and liberal voters and still win. In other words, "A Texan, won a conservative primary, for being very conservative .... is it a day that ends in 'Y'?" |

Am I the only one who is completely farkin' sick of that goddamned Tea Party? How did a bunch of financially illiterate, agitated rednecks and retirees gain so much control over the policies of this country? WTF????? |

When your policy is not to raise taxes to take care of and educate the droves of people who continue to recklessly breed because of religous views your party encourages then, yes, that will cause a problem. |

A Tea Bagger won in Texas.....TEXAS. This is somehow considered a triumphant victory that spells the doom for the GOP establishment and will propel the Ayn Rand worshipers into dominance of the our political system? /Can't argue with insanity so let the Tea Party eat paste in celebration. |

bmongar: qorkfiend: Aarontology: They want to time warp all the way back to 18901850. No they prefer the post civil war corporate person hood. The gilded age is the Tea Party golden age. I realize that that means free blacks but you can virtually own them with debt to their employers so it is not really any different plus you can say you support FREEDOM Pretty much this right here. We're living in the age of the 'Almost Gilded'. Back in the 30s and 40s, we were in the midst of recovering from the results of unregulated capitalism run amok, and we had the threat of communism there to force the plutocrats into compromising and throwing a bone or two to the working classes of America. Since then, they had the Communists to worry about, a reason for them to not push the workers too hard or too far, lest they start listening to the Communists about how bad capitalism was/is. Once the threat of global communism went away in the 90s, however, we saw them slowly creeping back to their former stances. Nibbling at the edges of long-earned rights and benefits like Child Labor laws and worker protections and union organizing. I maintain that it was the threat of communism that kept them going full retard and regressive on the country and now that communism, as a real threat, is gone, they're doing their best to drag us back to the days of company scrip and dormitories. An outright plutocratic society where the rich are the only ones who matter. |

He went as far right as we're going to see in order to win the Republican nomination. He had to. Having waded through that crazy, he can sit back and count on the votes of those nuts, just like Obama can put a notch in the black-vote win column. When it comes to getting them motivated enough to vote, all you need to say is Fartbongo! |
||
| whatsupchuck
For decades the right wing fringe groups have understood that the Republican candidates, in order to be successfully elected, need to appeal more generally to the moderates in the party, and have been satisfied with the more subtle nods from the candidate that their agenda will be considered. The teatards, OTOH, expect to be catered to lock, stock and barrel or they'll take their ball home and cry into their pillows. These morans are tearing the GOP apart and I must admit it has been fascinating to observe. The Republican party has awakened a sleeping giant, and it has gone full retard. |
