| what_now Dear Asshole, The President of Chick-Fil-A has the right to say whatever he wants. Mayor Menino has the right to say whatever *HE* wants, although it's more difficult to understand him. If Menino starts denying permits, then you can whine. |
||
| Godscrack Keep stirring that pot fundies. |

| cameroncrazy1984
Well, that's entirely rational. |
||
| Aarontology You libs are just violating his right to make specific threats on the lives of elected officials. |
||
| Vodka Zombie
Yeah. You're going to get these sorts of responses from the people of Mississippi. They're just too rock-sucking stupid to know how to act like rational adults in society. |
||
| GAT_00
It's the American way. |
||
| HawgWild Aarontology: You libs are just violating his right to make specific threats on the lives of elected officials. No, no, no, no, no. He said he was exaggerating. So, it's like he never said it! |
||
| Weaver95 In a letter to the Biloxi Sun Herald, Ron Williams, a Libertarian candidate running in Mississippi's 4th congressional district, wrote that mayors like Chicago's Rahm Emanuel and Boston's Tom Menino should be removed from office "by whatever means is necessary." ok, lets make something crystal clear here - fiscal conservatives and libertarians DO NOT CARE about gay marriage. it's not a financial issue and doesn't cost us any money. secondly, if there is a conflict between a corporation (or government entity) and the rights of an individual then a libertarian MUST side with the individual - period. libertarians care about the rights of the individual over the 'rights' of an organization. so if a libertarian does want to get involved in the whole gay marriage thing then they should be siding with the gays and not the religious right. see, it's a conflict between authoritarians and the rights of individuals, so...libertarians SHOULD be siding with the individuals and religious objections be damned. And lastly - even if you wanted to try and go with the religious/morality issue...Christ never said a damn thing about homosexuality. Not once did it come up in conversation. you'd figure that if the son of god thought homosexuality was a sin, he'd have mentioned it at least once or twice. So again, the religious argument falls apart. if you want to be a libertarian, you have to side with the gays. way I see it, you just don't have any choice on this one. it's a simple matter of individual vs authoritarian organizations. |
||
| Shostie When asked about his letter's comments, Williams told the Sun Herald that he was exaggerating and not advising "anybody to go shoot anybody." Oh. Well, okay then. Move along, everybody. Nothing to see here. |
||
| This About That FTFA: "A Mississippi congressional candidate said that mayors who oppose Chick-fil-A because of CEO Dan Cathy's views on same-sex marriage "need to be introduced to the Second Amendment."" Guns don't kill people, sociopaths kill people. |

| Rev. Skarekroe Makes sense. That's exactly what Jesus would do. |

| themindiswatching Sounds like he needs to get laid. Possibly with a man. |

| propasaurus Maybe one of our resident legal scholars can correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I read it, the Second Amendment says "... the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. So, you can have them, but that doesn't mean that you can use them to shoot people (even mayors) who say shiat you disagree with (even dumb shiat.) |

| vernonFL Muslims want to build a mosque? Fark 'em. Hippies want to burn the flag? fark 'em. Chick Fil A gives money to anti-gay groups? FIRST AMENDMENT! FIRST AMENDMENT! RIGHTS ARE BEING TRAMPLED1 |

| Diogenes I hope the good patrons of Chick-fil-A realize that the Republicans farked all those chickens they're eating. But taking a page from Rep. Gohmert, maybe this guy wouldn't be so keen to flap his gums so irresponsibly if more people exercised their 2nd Amendment rights. Mind you, I'm just speaking figuratively. |

It means that if some Lib says something one of us god-fearing compassionate Christian Conservatives don't agree with, you can storm their home and execute them on the front lawn. A Second Amendment remedy is when you have to use firearms to keep some Lib from criticizing you when you speak, which is basically the same as removing your right to that speech. Get it? |

| Mentat So Christian values are to hate gays and shoot anyone who disagrees with you? |

| timujin Ron Williams, a Libertarian candidate running in Mississippi's 4th congressional district, wrote that mayors like Chicago's Rahm Emanuel and Boston's Tom Menino should be removed from office "by whatever means is necessary." Wait, what? Look, I get that the definition of "libertarian" is slippery at best, but, ferfuxake, that's not even close. |
||
| GreenAdder What a moron. The second amendment is the right to bear arms, not the right to chicken breasts. |

GreenAdder: What a moron. The second amendment is the right to bear arms, not the right to chicken breasts. What about bare breasts? |
||
| skullkrusher umm... I REALLY don't think idle threats that have been since withdrawn call for 2nd amendment solutions, you farking inbred hillbilly |
||
| Lionel Mandrake What the Mayors said was pretty dumb. What Williams said was stupid, violent and pants-on-head retarded. See? Both sides are bad! |

I like all of the people who are claiming that a boycott is 'unconstitutional'(A'la Sarah Palin), and in the same breath suggesting a boycott of gay-friendly businesses... Yes, if Chick-Fil-A was denied permits based on this(Without showing any actual evidence of discrimination), then there would be an issue, but it STILL wouldn't be a "Second Amendment Issue", and this is coming from a gun owner and gun rights supporter. This douchebag is just a doody-head. |

Libertarians are going to have to find a new word for what they stand for. All it means now is, "I'm so conservative I'm not even a Republican. Vote for me!" |
||
| cubic_spleen
Ah. A libertarian. Possibly the only group of Americans more petulant, whiny, greedy, and stupid than the Republicans. Although to be fair, they are actually a subset of the Republican mindset. A distillation, if you will. Don't tread on them, because you will never get the smell out of your shoes. Anyone who proposes a "second amendment solution" to anything is a pants-wetting coward, and needs to go take a long pull from an exhaust pipe. |

I can't just go and open up a strip club near a school. |

WTF is with all these farking right wing idiots and their "second amendment" solution to everything? Do they realize the Second Amendment is not a license to kill? That it doesn't make murdering liberals legal? |
||

The Constitution is very clear. When government restricts and punishes the people for exercising their First Amendment rights, then we are to default to the Second Amendment (right to keep and bear arms). These two mayors need to be introduced to the Second Amendment ASAP. And if that doesn't work, we move on to the Third Amendment, and refuse to allow soldiers to live in our houses until we get our way. |

The first Amendment means that Chick-fil-A and it's President can say whatever they please while at the same time the rest of us can call them bigots and boycott their business. /Lives in Northern MN, never seen a Chick-fil-A in person. |
