WHO: Hey, you guys wouldn't have happened to have seen if one of those prisoners was being treating for ebola, have you?

So, a prison is infected with Ebola and they take inmates to the hospital. Once there and Ebola is confirmed, most people flee the hospital, some of them may have been exposed. An inmate who was being treated for the disease escapes. Also, two men in Kenya now have Ebola after traveling on a bus through Uganda. Who knows who else was on that bus, or who got on or off, and where?

This outbreak is going to get much worse before it gets better.

I hope so, but there are already over 300 suspected cases that have been identified, who knows how many more that haven't, and Kagadi is an urban area, and it's only about 150 miles from Kampala.

It might be contained, as they say. I hope so. I just have nightmares about ebola. It is a really nasty bug.

Oh even better, Hillary Clinton stopped by Kampala to meet with the Ugandan president on a 7 nation tour. Really f*cking brilliant there. Not like there's an outbreak with an unknown number of ebola infected people in that capital right now.

Chances of her getting ebola has got to be incredibly low but still not exactly a smart move.

Rainbows End - When do we have to start nuking cities with outbreaks of Ebola because we cant trust the people there to contain it?

(Should probably start firebombing Zombie Walks just to be on the safe side!!)

Meh... Not too contagious.... Short incubation and quick death. I worry less about ebola than a virulent strain of flu. Ebola is not a good pandemic bug.

I was flying through Atlanta yesterday, and people were keeping their distance from a woman who appeared to be from Africa (if the dress was any indication) that also had on a surgical mask.

No real point, except that apparently more than a few international travelers are aware shiats happening over there.

//Not just shiat happening, but bleeding out every orifice.

Not at the moment. But I would think that once it starts getting out into the population proper, like what's happening at the moment, it stands a good chance of mutating and picking up some devastating new tricks.

Even if a person survives the disease, the virus can live in their scrotum and be passed on through sexual intercourse to uninfected people. At least world hunger won't be a problem any longer.

I just mentally inserted "ebola" into that soundbite from the 'Ricola' commercials, and now I can't stop giggling. There is probably something wrong with me.

Not ebola, though.

But GBola gives you more bang for your buck.

Next week Microsoft will be releasing Bola 2012 v3.17.23499(beta) for WinXP/7+ Serivce Pack 2, revision 3 (activation required), and I'm told all antiviral medications will be useless.

Ebola is self-limiting. People die too fast for it to become pandemic. There should only be a few thousand deaths, tops.

It's still relatively easy to isolate and kill an Ebola epidemic. (At least compared to other communicable diseases) And that would have to be a heck of a mutation to change it to aerosol contagious. Or mosquito contagious.

Plus any mutation that developed in the human population would then have to be transmitted back to the non-human maintenance host. And we don't even know what those are. If it's a fruit bat, I'd think we'd have a hard time giving it back to them.

Also, we don't even know if it is Ebola or what strain of Ebola. Hell, it could easily be any one of a number of hemorrhagic fevers. Marburg, I'm looking at you.

I feel sorry for the people living near the Ebola River. I'm sure it is a nice place, and it was only a hotspot of "Ebola" for a period of time. Now, AFAIK, it's no more a hotspot than anywhere else. Despite being unique, it's not like anyone's going on vacation to visit Ebola. It'd be, like, "Hey, anyone wanna see my pictures of my trip to AIDSTown?"

Same with Marburg, although that's not quite as well-known as the term "Ebola".
