BTW for those who haven't watched the streams, what, if any events have you already heard about either while watching broadcast coverage or from other sources?

But luckily he showed his true jungle cat form to win in by 3 seconds.

I'm surprised Phelps can put up with this analysis shiat, not that he doesn't have a brain but athletic competition doesn't lie in endless talking.

I watched stuff live from 7:00am to about 1:00PM. Stumbled across some other stuff. Not ruining it for us high-light show watchers.

Synchronized swimming began today, and it is not part of the primetime lineup. NBC will not be showing today's compulsory routine. So since that's the case, I've loaded it up.

Americans are up first on the stream (20 minutes in if you wish to stream yourself) and good Lord the hair product.

I still can't believe Phelps set a new world record in the 100m dash while riding a shark with Oscar Pistorius' prosthetic legs attached to its fins.

Just a shame there were no survivors.

I was just asking to see if people caught the women's marathon, or the other stuff that was aired at least semi-live just so I'm not a total bag of nerves over here ;)

15 seconds into the routine and my lungs would farking explode. Upside down identically thrashing legs in unison, while identically thrashing arms keep you from sinking. GOOD GOD NO THANK YOU.

I'm so glad they are showing the exact same Phelps interview they showed at 11:45 last night. I wasn't sure how they were going to fill all that time, with only like 30 different sports going on today, there certainly wasn't any better usage of Prime Time.

Who the hell brings an airhorn to a synchronized swimming competition?

The Spanish women are engaging in some kind of... wrestling with their backs to each other at about 27 minutes in the video.

Austria third in line.

Seriously, with all the leg shots of highly-toned legal-age women at physical peak, you'd think this would get beach-volleyball ratings.

I love how in the graphic of recent 3-meter springboard golds, they used NBC's in-house logos for the respective Olympiads instead of the actual official ones.

KurganCA: An extra hour of talking to Phelps.

I want to preface the following statement with this: I was on swim teams for 9 years and my greatest achievement was a bronze medal for the butterfly leg of a 400 medley in a penny ante city invitational. I am in utter awe of Michael Phelps as much as anyone and more than most.

He needs to leave the MJ comparisons and GOAT stuff for other people to say. It's undoubtedly true but comes off poorly.
