"Stars Earns Stripes," which debuts Aug. 13, requires "dangerous water stunts, strenuous physical activity, and uses live ammunition," Greenblatt said.

Yeah, that sounds like a great show for a fat, spoiled idiot who has MS.

But the "live ammunition" part sounds like a possible goldmine of D-list celebrity fatalities.

"How dare you won't put my twentysomething MS victim son in a reality show featuring things to make him die!"

There is no way for NBC to get out of this looking good. You would think Sharon--who promoted her husband--would understand this and take one of the 'alternative' positions for a check.

To paraphrase Bill Hicks; If you have anything to do with reality shows, kill yourself.

So..Sharon says she wants to leave America's Got Talent weeks ago, then NBC doesn't let her son onto a reality tv show due to medical concerns, and now she's announced that she's leaving her show. Sounds to me that someone is using her son as an excuse to break her contract.

AGT is a waste, let her leave, I hope that show dies as she leaves. And I hope it's death throws somehow takes American Idol and X Factor with it.

I'm waiting for a couple years, when they turn criminals and captured terrorists into an arena where they have to battle each other for their lives. And the audience can vote if they live or die. That'd be...what...it's been done already. Goddamit so much. I thought it was a fresh idea....what...there's no fresh ideas in television..it's just a farking rehash of the same old shiat because they ran out of ideas years long ago. Oh...I'll just go and read a book.

Actually, that would be awesome.

Maybe Howie will leave and they can replace him with Gary.

We are so close to the Running Man now! Should just fill it full of reality stars instead of convicts. The convicts have done less damage to socity.

I don't know anyone who watches any of these shows, why are they on TV in the first place?

I think the only "reality" show I ever watched was "White Bronco Chase"

No shiat. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with it about 11 years ago. Thankfully, it hasn't gotten to the advanced stage yet. Along with her meds, she gets regular Interferon injections in order to manage it.

I'm going to have to defend AGT.

Yes, it's a loud, obnoxious show, and I often want to punch the judges, but the thing about it is that, in spite of itself, it really does find some amazing talents -- things like the Earth Harp, Jackie Evanko, Defying Gravity, and Arc Attack -- that are, IMO, very much worth watching.

It's OK, man. It's not your fault.
Your dad just couldn't show his love like you wanted.
It's not your fault.

I wasn't aware that Jack had been diagnosed with MS. That's pretty shiatty.

That being said, Sharon should be angry with Jack, not with NBC. They offered him two other roles and he turned them both down. He can't get what he wants due to safety concerns. That might have something to do with the production's insurance. It's not uncommon.

Jack turns down two other offers. Sharon leaves (or threatens to leave) over it. Now they're both acting like petulant children.

It's hard to imagine the quality of life someone who could say this must have. Please indulge us.
