You barely scrape into the synchronized swimming final at the Olympics and want to make a splash. For your musical number, do you choose A) a Mozart medley, B) Enya's greatest hits or C) AC/CD. Hells Bells

Next up was Japan, who went for a chilled synth number that sounded like something Jann Hammer may have created on his keyboard axe if Miami Vice was set in Tokyo.

Imposters, Japan does not sound like that at all

If you really want to impress me with your synchronized swimming, perform a routine to "Flight of the Bumblebee".

/btw I loves me some Angus and Bon

It's understandable, they had only one song so far

Sad state of affairs really if the choice of music is more important than the team's performance.
And this is an Olympic sport, why?

Fark, I was so excited about synchronised swimmers swim-dance-whatevering to Acca Dacca, I farked up the name.

For those about to rock, they'll forgive me.

Give 'em credit, they didn't go for crappy soft music.

They had a head down, bum up, leg-waving number to the intro riff from Back in Black. It was farking brilliant.

Yeah, best I could find at the time.

Better ones will pop up in a few hours, but I do not care that much.

The reason they barely scraped into the final is probably their choice of music. Anyway, a "sport" that requires music to be performed isn't really a sport.

Because the old guard at FINA love it, and won't stand for it's removal. Their bargaining chip is: "Well, the Americans sure do love their lane swimming (which we also sanction), and you at the IOC sure do love NBC's money...". Thus, Synchronized Swimming in the Olympics forever. :(

Watched the ribbon team perform yesterday with the sound off, playing Freebird on the stereo. Awesome!

I love that everyone wants to eliminate events they don't like, as though those events prevent them from being able to see their favorite events - if you don't like something, don't watch it. It's not that hard. Meanwhile, I think that they should just start adding a sh*tton of other niche sports, since that's pretty much all the Olympics is. Embrace your flea-market-of-sports vibe.

Thanks for this! The audio sucks (being recorded on a camera recording a TV b'cast), but it's much better than nothing!
