| saturn badger BolloxReader: When I go to the state fair, I budget about $80-100 for food. I'll buy everything that looks appealing but if I'm not with a group of friends to share with I will just take a few bites of each item and toss the rest. Despite this moderation I'm still a fattie. But it let's me sample far more treats without feeling like my gut was gonna blow. That is my beer budget. |

drxym: A better reason not to eat in theme parks is because they're a ripoff, Patronize theme parks which have sane food and drink policy and allow visitors to bring their own in. I'm guessing you won't be visiting Disney this year. |

If people eat fair (theme park, carnival, whatever) food a few times a year, it won't cause a weight problem. If people have a weight problem, it's because of what they eat for 364 days out of the year, not 1 day. I will defend my funnel cake to my last drop of grease. Sure, they're unhealthy. So is the cheesecake I had for a special dessert last night. First dessert I've eaten in months, and I enjoyed every calorie. So, actually, are most of the things we enjoy eating. And most of the things we do for fun are more dangerous than living in padded rooms, too. So you manage the risks. Eat funnel cakes a few times a year, not a few times a day. Balance risk and reward. And have fun. Also, Michael Bloomberg can EAD. (and I don't even like soda!) |

The Chive checks in with this year's best bets for state fair food Link We are headed to Canada next week to check out The Ex in Toronto (kind of a national state fair) - hoping there is NOT any fried poutine. We will swing back home through Syracuse for the opening of the New York State Fair. |

Spanky McStupid: I'm guessing you won't be visiting Disney this year. I actually was in Disney 3 weeks back and they were pretty laid back. Never had an issue with food or drink and indeed their site says cold food is okay. They obviously have issues with glass or items requiring cooking but its not unreasonable. On the other hand Universal studios are a bunch of shiats and bar people with soda cans if they find them. Of course they're so fixated on searching bags that you can just move the soda into your pockets and get it through. It's still really dickish though and petty. |
