You can drink faster from a bottle, unless it's those Coors Light cans with the vent. However, cans are a better packaging option from almost every objective standard. They weigh less, they don't let light in, they cool faster, and they're cheaper. They recycle easier unless you count reusing the bottles as recycling, but that has to be brand specific.

Oww My head- hurts - like it was bludgeoned wit a bottle after reading that. !

Sixpoint Brewery uses those Red Bull style tall cans - it doesn't really matter to me how it's packaged though - their Resin beer is probably the best I've tasted.

I downed a PBR tallboy after getting stuck in afternoon traffic yesterday. It hit the spot.

I don't mind beer in a can outdoors when it's cold. In a cold environment, it doesn't get warm in 15 minutes. A can of beer on a hot day is room-temp and flat before I can finish it. Just as cans cool quicker, they warm quicker - which is OK if you are going to guzzle your Silver Bullet Pisswater in three swigs, but that ain't my style.

Craft beer in a can is pretty much superior to bottled beer in every way. If I have a choice between a beer in a bottle and the same beer in a can, I'll take the can every time, theres a much lower chance of oxidation and light related off-flavored.

I think you guys are misinformed. I used to think that way, but I go to Berlin once a year and I noticed everyone was riding around on the subway drinking these great beers out of cans. Tried a few canned lagers and it turns out beer actually tastes a little better in cans compared to bottles.

The cans are lined, so there's no aluminum or metal contamination and I suppose they are better protected from light and fresher when you drink them. I started seeking out the canned beers and it turns out there are quite a few excellent beers available in the US in cans or mini-kegs.

Personally I don't care about environmental concerns related to beer containers, I only prefer beer in cans because they taste better.

Just try a few decent beers that come in both cans and bottles,like Spaten, Stella Artois, Oranjeboom, Warsteiner. Try them both and then come back and tell me you liked the bottles better. I'd be pretty surprised.
