Yeah, sorry, I still prefer bottles. The only time I'd prefer a can is if I'm going somewhere that doesn't allow bottles. And I don't go anywhere like that.

You can drink faster from a bottle, unless it's those Coors Light cans with the vent. However, cans are a better packaging option from almost every objective standard. They weigh less, they don't let light in, they cool faster, and they're cheaper. They recycle easier unless you count reusing the bottles as recycling, but that has to be brand specific.

Lots of my favorites are bottle conditioned, and I really can't imagine aging beer in cans.

That said, if the beer can be in a can, then taking it in the can is just dandy.

Sixpoint Brewery uses those Red Bull style tall cans - it doesn't really matter to me how it's packaged though - their Resin beer is probably the best I've tasted.

/they refer to them as "nano-kegs"

Wine in boxes, beer in cans, what's next, milk in bags? I blame Canada.

Bottles look and feel better than cans and certainly taste better to drink out of but if I'm going to pour into a pint glass, it really doesn't matter.

I'm a wine drinker but sometimes I enjoy a PBR or Rainier in a can when it's hot out. Must be icy cold beer.
Dunno why.

This.

If the beer needs to be conditioned then bottles or mini/maxi kegs are the only way. If the beer doesn't need conditioning after brewing then a can is just as good if not better than a bottle. A pasturised beer will taste the same out of a bottle or can, the rest is just snobbery or the placibo effect.

This. The coating on the inside of the cans is supposed to impart no change to the flavor.

Then again, I only drink PBR canned or on draught.

I downed a PBR tallboy after getting stuck in afternoon traffic yesterday. It hit the spot.

Never had beer in a bottle make it to camp, and beer in a can always tastes better than beer in your ice chest bottom.

That may be because the roads I take to camp are very rough, but remember: the rougher the road, the harder her bra has to work!

I don't mind beer in a can outdoors when it's cold. In a cold environment, it doesn't get warm in 15 minutes. A can of beer on a hot day is room-temp and flat before I can finish it. Just as cans cool quicker, they warm quicker - which is OK if you are going to guzzle your Silver Bullet Pisswater in three swigs, but that ain't my style.

Alright, I've got a question. If you made a wooden whistle, drilled out the back, then stuck it snugly into the mouth of a beer bottle, then drilled a few holes in the glass, could you make an instrument?

Craft beer in a can is pretty much superior to bottled beer in every way. If I have a choice between a beer in a bottle and the same beer in a can, I'll take the can every time, theres a much lower chance of oxidation and light related off-flavored.

Newcastle from a can is heaven, Newcastle from those asinine clear bottles is borderline undrinkable.

I think you guys are misinformed. I used to think that way, but I go to Berlin once a year and I noticed everyone was riding around on the subway drinking these great beers out of cans. Tried a few canned lagers and it turns out beer actually tastes a little better in cans compared to bottles.

The cans are lined, so there's no aluminum or metal contamination and I suppose they are better protected from light and fresher when you drink them. I started seeking out the canned beers and it turns out there are quite a few excellent beers available in the US in cans or mini-kegs.

Personally I don't care about environmental concerns related to beer containers, I only prefer beer in cans because they taste better.

I prefer bottles, solely because I can reuse them for my homebrews. If you're not getting additional use out of the container, it's pretty much irrelevant though.

Yeah....about no effin' way.....dark bottles block light, they are stored in a warehouse, no light again, they come in a cardboard box, again no light. Then they line the farkin' can with a ahem....perservative....soon to be banned by an underactive FDA who let this shiat get in the can in the first place. This is only an economic move.......Typical bullshiat amerifascist corporation move..........people who suck up to this think McDonalds is a hamburger.....

Just try a few decent beers that come in both cans and bottles, like Spaten, Stella Artois, Oranjeboom, Warsteiner. Try them both and then come back and tell me you liked the bottles better. I'd be pretty surprised.
