Non story. His team of accountants claimed residency in one state over another for tax purposes, and when Romney wanted to run for governor he amended the tax returns to claim residency in Massachusetts, at which point he amended his tax liability.

Romney owned a house and lived in Boston for 30 years, and the two years in question that resulted in amended tax returns were during his Utah Olympics stint. It's not like he had just moved into the state and thought he deserved to be in office, like a Clinton. Democrats already took those tax returns to the State Ballot Law Commission before the election and guess what? They lost.
