What a greedy pig! Next time chew s'more. |

| pudding7 I think that possum just had a bath. Which leads to the question, who the hell has a pet possum? |

There is nothing cute about an opossum. It looks like the offspring of a nutria, a mole, and a rat. //once cornered one by accident feeding off my trashcan . . . it was enormous |

Why does it look terrified? |

Great now I'm in THAT part of YouTube, looking at cute animals eating and cute animals playing with cute babies and cute animals being cute... /There are worst ways of waste a Saturday... |

There's a difference between 'docile' and 'scared shiatless' Clearly this thing doesn't want to be touched and is probably thinking something along the lines of "please crazy lady just let me go" |

Yeah I am not sure if cute is a word I would describe a giant marsupial rat. Those things are evil in the wild. I have had my fair share of run ins with them and I know them things are mean and dirty and destructive. |

Perhaps the most misunderstood creature, very gentle and docile by nature. They only act mean in their defense mode, given the chance, they will flee. Excellent at killing mice, snakes, and other pest. They are good for the environment and should not be feared and do not carry rabies. I'm sure the writer's ignorance about the way rabies is carried makes the rest of their claim true. |

They could say that opposums are highly unlikely to have rabies, which is true, as they are very resistant, but it's not impossible for them to contract it. |

| t3knomanser verbal_jizm: They could say that opposums are highly unlikely to have rabies, which is true, as they are very resistant, Resistance, nothing. Small mammals are very unlikely to have rabies. To contract rabies, you have to a) be bitten by a rabid animal, b) survive the bite. Cats, rats, bats, and other small mammals are generally pretty unlikely to catch rabies simply because the rabid animal will just tear them apart. |

So far only two people in this thread seem to understand that you spell opposum with two o's. verbal_jizm: Britney Spear's Speculum: Perhaps the most misunderstood creature, very gentle and docile by nature. pudding7: Which leads to the question, who the hell has a pet possum? A girl I used to date in Florida. She found it as a baby and it had a lame leg. She fed it and took care of it awhile, it was a cute little thing. Then for whatever reason, she got tired of it. She told me she was going to return the opossum to the wild, I said don't, it's accustomed to humans now. Let's turn it in at the wild life preserve. She did it anyway, next day she found it squashed in the road on it's way back to her house. I took it as an omen..no, I didn't get squashed, but I ended up disposed of as well. Which was ok, cause I had a replacement lined up. /mmm possum |

I was going to contradict you regarding bats, but fortunately I read the CDC page first. Bats seem to be in the same boat as humans - they may get rabies, but it's not common. Not worth taking the risk by handling a bat without gloves, but then again it's not worth worrying about being bitten by a rabid bat. I like bats. They get a bad rap. |

Pvt Joker: ![]() Made up one similar to this years ago when a couple friends worked at a detail shop; stuck it up on telephone poles outside garage.... had the ending say, "Contact TOM inside detail garage." The one friend that was in on the gag said some lady came in all pissy asking for Tom, then starting calling him a "Damned dumbass" and telling him that's not a kitten, it's a possum... that it is illegal to keep and she's going to call the Dept. of Natural Resources on him if he didn't let it go, or hand it over to her, he'd better do it fast, she's not messing around, and just royally chewing his ass out.... naturally, he had no idea wth she was talking about, and buddy said she wouldn't stop biatching at him long enough for him make her understand. When she finally let him talk and he said he had not idea what she was talking about and had no kitten or possum to get rid of and someone must be pulling a prank, she started cussing them both then walked out... /end of CSB //still gets me laughing remembering that crap |

It involves a series of gas lines, valves and timed ignitions. You may want to review your insurance first. |
