Happy new season to everyone! This year I am following it from the Central time zone as I have moved for grad school. Excited to watch matches in an hour, but most looking forward to the Spurs match at 1130 my time. Top 4: United City Arsenal Chelsea Europa League: Spurs Liverpool Relegated: Reading Southampton Swansea |

Oh wait, swap Southampton with QPR on my list, forgot QPR barely survived last season. Also I think Real Madrid wins the Champs league this year as well. |
||
| obamartins
Champs: mcfc Champs league: united, Chelsea, honestly think 4th is a crapshoot, but let's of with Arsenal Europa: totham, nufc, lpool. One will get in from the cups. Hopefully nufc. Relegated: wigan, Swansea and reading. If nufc can get through the season without any major injuries I think we've got a shot for fourth but considering we have no depth it's going to be tough. |
||
| tom servo bit me
Prediction: A manager will get fired, maybe two, even three; a player will suffer a horrific injury which will have us all wringing our hands over tackling; crappy teams will get relegated; and good teams will make it to Europe. I don't know why but for some reason this season feels really unpredictable to me. |
||
| Langston And calling out predictions early, I'm gonna go with: Champions: Manchester United The fact that they were barely edged out last year on goal differential considering their injuries throughout the season and total loss of Vidic, they're coming out hard and gonna take back the title from City. Picking up Kagawa was a good move and Van Persie gave them a huge emotional lift. I predict that RvP will stay healthy this season and pitch in about 15-20 goals and their back line will be formidable. I doubt that they'll have as many injuries this year as last. Top Four: 1. Manchester United 2. Arsenal 3. Chelsea 4. Manchester City A lot of people think Arsenal is too high, City is too low and Chelsea is nearly impossible to predict. I'm stacking it like this because I believe that Arsenal will have a better defense this year with fewer injuries (and Bould's coaching will help), Cazorla is a huge pickup and will transform the midfield, which had creative struggles last year, and Wilshere will come back. Chelsea bought a whole lot of talent and I think they're showing will be better. I also think Torres will get his groove back. I'm still not sure about Di Matteo's coaching, but he did admirably last year and I think he'll do pretty well this year but we'll see how he does with a full season. On paper, Manchester City is the team to beat, but they enjoyed last season with virtually no injuries and a bench that was stacked. Being hungry and winning a crown is one thing, defending it is another. I see them having some slip-ups this year, particularly if they have injuries to any of their key players. They stayed the same while all of their rivals improved. |
||
| Langston Also agree with Liverpool and Tottenham in the Europa League spots. Not as sure about relegation, but my guess would be: West Brom Reading Southampton |
||
| ScouserDuck
Champs : liverpool (I told you last year that this year's our year) CL spots: city, united, Chelsea El spots: spurs, arsenal Relegated: QPR, Southhampton, Reading May I say, I'm kinda disappointed in RvP. Right move maybe. But I always thought he would be an arsenal man. Goddamn I'm excited for this day! |

Morning, farkers. Here for most of the 1st half of WBA v Liverpool before I must get ready for work. Predictions that'll probably be utter shiat: EPL Champions- Man City 2- ManU (Something will go wrong with the team and they'll be too saddled in debt to buy anyone in January) 3- Chelsea 4- Arsenal (in Wenger they should trust 5- Tottenham 6- Liverpool (contention for a spot in Europe on the final Sunday will be a successful season, in my book) Relegation- QPR, Reading and WBA |

I don't make predictions, and I never will. City will win the league again. There's no reason why they won't. The first one is the hardest. I don't trust United anymore. Eight points clear with six games left will do that to you. Team; Points; Player who will exceed expectations; Player who won't meet expectations. 1. Financial Dopers II; 90; Zabaleta; Rodwell. 2. Source of all that is good and pure in the world; 80+; Kagawa (if played in correct position); Sir Ryan Giggs, sadly. 3. Financial Dopers; 75; Oscar; Hazard. 4. The Captain Sellers; 70+; Cazorla; Podolski. 5. Tottenham; 67; Caulker; Parker. 6. Best team on Merseyside; 57; Gibson; Jelavic. 7. Second best team on Merseyside again; 55; Kelly; Reina again. 8. Newcastle; 50+ (isn't that a magazine?); Cabaye; Cisse (oh yeah, I went there). 9. Fulham; 45; one of the Irish lads; one of the non-Irish lads. 10. We play on the floor; 44; one of the big lads up front; one of the small lads not up front. 11. Sunderland; 43; David Meyler; Sessegnon. 12. Aston Villa; 42; Bent; Stephen Ireland again. 13. Fabio and Park; 41; Fabio and Park; everyone else. 14. Swansea; 40; Michu; one of those lads who has 90%+ passing success but nobody ever notices anything he does. 15. Just get relegated already; 40; Crouch; Delap. 16. Wigan; 40; McCarthy; Al Habsi. 17. Southampton; 39; Lallana; Rodriguez. 18. Reading; 36; Ian Harte (is still alive?); Pogrebniak. 19. West Brom; 34; Long; Odemwingie. 20. Championship players; 30; Butterfield; Holt. Top scorer: Aguero (apologies for the lack of originality). Player of the year: Aguero (apologies for the lack of originality). First manager sacked: Di Matteo. The guy who had a lower points-per-game record than AVB. Champions League: Real Madrid. Hope for the season: that Tom Cleverley stays fit for 30+ league games. Everything else will take care of itself after that. It won't happen though. |
