What they actually hit was a concrete ornament (an animal stuffed with concrete is still a stuffed animal)

What about an animal stuffed with organs and bones?

If it weren't for that horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in bomb-diffusion training.

I don't really want to read this article or this thread. In no way will it live up to that out of context quote.

Video of the exploding horsie made me both giggle and have a sad at the same time. I know how my kids treat their stuffed animals, and had that been one of my daughters, we'd be holding a wake right now.

The giggle would be because that's how I repress the horrid feelings I have when I realize I live in a country that can destroy the entire world more then 10 times over, and yet, we are afraid of everything.

Great. Now the terroists are gonna start planting bombs covered with American flags all over the place. In fact, they'll probably develop some kind of explosive red, white, and blue inks to make flags with so ALL of our flags will be potentially explosive so all of our classrooms, government buildings, politicians' lapels, and republicans' bumpers will be highly in jeapordy.

QUICKLY! WE NEED A NEW ORGANIZATION TO COMBAT THIS NEW THREAT!

Either way, detonating stuff like this is for the best.

I had not heard of that teacher imprisoned in Sudan.

WTF is wrong with people that they would want to execute a woman for naming a stuffed bear?

I mean seriously, WTF is wrong with you!

We used to have EOD blow up dead animals in Iraq from time to time. When they were right in the middle of the road, for instance. Usually they were just dead animals, but every now and then insurgents had stuffed them with explosives. Once I even saw wires trailing from a dead cow's ass. So we always avoided dead animals, and sometimes we had EOD blow them up. It was a nice break in routine, actually. Livened the day up a little.

Come to think of it, American Flags that exploded would probably be a pitch-perfect representation of our national identity. The terrorists could sell them to rednecks all over the country.

Religion. It atrophies the section of the brain that doublechecks on whether you're being a complete idiot.

Oh COME ON.

Say your job is EOD. There's something wigging people out in front of a school. You can tell them "Look morons, it's a stuffed horsie, we x-rayed it." ORRRRR you have the authority to say "OK boys, we all know there's no threat but we're allowed to blow shiat up snd we've got a pile of C4 about to expire."

kaBOOM!

As someone who felt compelled to point out to his bus driver today that there was an unattended backpack on the bus tonight I'm getting a kick.

/ Didn't really think there was anything in it other than a bums dirty socks or a Hempfest attendees zig-zags, and waited until I was leaving the bus in case he actually took it seriously.
