| Remember when the Philadelphia Eagles went with Michael Vick and got rid of Kevin Kolb? Looks like Andy Reid was a farking genius on that one |

| xynix "Kolb danced around the end zone, held on to the ball so long, I suspected he was going to take it to a desert island and start calling it "Wilson," " I loled. Chase Daniels the 2nd string for the Saints is better than this guy.. |

I can't understand how a guy who's played QB his whole career can be skittish in the pocket and afraid to take a hit. Or how a professional organization like the Cardinals could look at such a player and decide he's worth giving a big contract to. |

Except for maybe the sainted Brian Dawkins I can't think of any Andy-Reid-era Eagles who ever amounted to a hill'o'beans on another team. Everyone looks better playing for him(and looks worse when they move on). |

Kolb...well, I kinda felt bad for the guy. |

That first play, I don't think Kolb was expecting the LG (71) to completely whiff on his blocking assignment. The second play, however, Kolb's gotta recognize that the pocket's collapsing around him and get rid of the ball. However, I'm not sure a safety's THAT much worse than 4th and forever at your own 1 yard line. |

Kevin Kolb is another example of what makes talent evaluation in the NFL so difficult. To some, his few good games with the Eagles are an example that McNabb sucks because Andy Reid has a great system so they should have always gone with Kolb. Then Kolb sucks on another team and Vick isn't quite as good as McNabb in his place. Is McNabb better than the other two? Was it Reid's system that made Kolb and McNab good and Vick passable? Unfortunately, we can't really know that either because of other personnel and the scheduling of a 16 game season featuring other teams with different personnel every year. And then evaluating McNabb now is difficult because he's old. I don't feel like it's accurate to compare 2011 McNabb with 2003 McNabb. All I can tell is Kolb sucks in a lousy division and was passable in a good division. This is probably why fantasy leagues feel about as skill based as roulette. |

Rapmaster2000: All I can tell is Kolb sucks in a lousy division and was passable in a good division. Kolb's entire value was based off of one game. He throw 11 TDs & 14 INTs with Philly. There was no indication he was going to be any good. The Cards were just desperate and made a stupid decision. |

basemetal: You'd be a scared man if you were relying on that line too. But it seemed like the O-line played a bit better for Skelton. Maybe it was just me, but I thought they left Kolb out to dry a bit more than they did for Skelton. /Thinks Kolb is destined for clipboard holding in Week 1 |

| puffy999 SilentStrider: Anyone remember A.J. Feely? The Dolphins sure do. The funny thing is that he was always a good backup. Maybe the Fins should've started another QB every game... |

His skill has nothing to do with Flynns, though. Matt will be fine. BOTH are better than that other dude....whatshisnuts, Tardvarnish, or whatever. |
||
| puffy999 xaks: Wilson is a lot better QB than you realize. Well, no, I think the point is that I realize it whereas others do not. Well... actually it's probably because of his height, but meh. I think Flynn is more prepared than Kolb, but I still don't know if I'm sold on the guy being a plug-in for a team without a great offensive system. I'd choose him over Jackson, sure. |
||
| VvonderJesus
They were thinking about bringing in Tarvaris Jackson, right? That should tell you how terrible Kevin Kolb is. |
||
| IAmRight Flynn was a better decision than Kolb if only because: a) his great game was way better than Kolb's b) he didn't get injured after his great game, then prove that he sucked for a long time before someone signed him to a big deal c) he was signed to a smaller, shorter deal and the Seahawks didn't have to give up players or picks for him Even if Flynn fails to make the team, he was still a better pickup than Kolb. And he's going to make the team. |

I find it curious that nfl teams prefer to give their opponents a short field as well. |

If Tebow looks mediocre, though, Sanchez is toast I hope so but I think Sanchez gets 2 regular season starts. If the Jets go 0-2 I have little doubt Tebow will either start or replace Sanchez during the game come week 3. Sanchez is going to struggle because the Jets OL, RBs, WRs, and Sanchez himself all suck to varying degrees. |

The must be maddening to be a bubble player and have no plays go towards your side of the field. You have to wonder how many players that could have potentially been great are victims of opportunity? Probably not a ton but there's got to be some guys selling insurance who blew their first and only shot |

Lost Thought 00: Don't the Jets have a third string QB they should be giving a tryout right now? They have two more in their depth chart ... and neither would be real impressive on a community college roster. Really, the Jets' QB lineup is just sad on a lot of levels. |

Normally I'd suggest that the Jets should just punt on first down, but... |

If this the NFL thread for the night? If so, I find it interesting that the only incompletions Rivers threw were both bobbled interceptions. I've never seen that happen through 15 passes before. |

NEWS FLASH: Andy Reid takes mediocre QBs, turns them into above average IN HIS OWN SYSTEM, then dupes another team to trade for them where they implode. Kolb is the 3rd QB to be traded in such a way from Reid. It's just more notable because of the money involved. Not hating...just showing that a few called Kolb a bust before he was even traded because of this trend. |
