Yeah, he's terrible at staying on his talking points!

Remember this speech? Way to stay on message Joe

What we need are more politicians who speak like robots and never ever say anything spontaneous or anything that genuinely reflects how they feel.

It's what the founders wanted.

The fact that the only people around here who want to see Biden replaced at the Republican trolls is pretty telling.

Are you guys that scared of him?

They can continue to lower the bar for Uncle Joe, and then when he clubs Ryan like a baby seal, it'll look even worse for them.

This. I still am amused by the fact she was congratulated for "doing well" simply because she didn't suffer from a complete mental collapse on stage. You would think not completely imploding under pressure in a live environment would be a requirement for the job, rather than something worthy of compliment.

First off, this was a pretty lame gaffe to run with; it wasn't even really an actual gaffe, and there are better, and funnier Biden moments anyway. I love how the right wing makes fun of Biden as if they think it's going to hurt his feelings or bring his poll numbers down or something. If anything, it makes me think of those Biden stories the Onion makes up, and then I end up giggling and liking Biden even more. He seems like he has a good sense of humor so he can play it off better than people who get all blustery and full of rage at being caught with their foot in their mouth.

/I like to believe Biden has kept a scrap book of the Onion's Biden articles and reads them when he needs a good laugh

I like Biden. I get the feeling he's a real, decent human being. He's the only politician I know who didn't get rich off of his political position. His gaffes generally consist of him baldly speaking the truth. He's not diplomatic, but he also tends to be right. Plus, as a long-time member of U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, he's got foreign experience chops that wipe the floor with both Romney and Ryan.

On the other hand, I hope the Republicans keep trying to lower expectations for Biden. That way, when he decimates Ryan during the debates, it will probably end Ryan's political career for good. That couldn't happen to a more deserving noodge.

It's funny because Joe Biden is one of the few successful national-level politicians who actually may not have a raging personality disorder. But that's cool, subby, keep making fun of him because he doesn't openly deny that he has ever made a mistake on any issue, ever.

Can't wait to see Paul Ryan try to debate with Biden with his thesis that the lower and middle class have it too easy.

You've also got to give Biden credit for not snapping at Palin and saying, "I am a US Senator, and you are a state governor; I am more than happy to refer to you as "Gov Palin" and you will call me "Sen Biden", not farking "Joe!"

You did watch the debate between Biden and Palin, right? You do know that after the debates, Obama/Biden took a commanding lead in the polls and never looked back, right? Seems odd to think that could happen if Palin somehow looked like a rocket scientist in her debate with Biden. But, hey, keep lowering expectations, I'm sure that will work.

Biden kind of had one hand tied behind his back in the Palin debate, because they were scared of him looking like a bully if he was too harsh on her.

But the gloves will be off for his debate with Paul Ryan. After all, Ryan is supposed to be an "intellectual" politician. Biden will destroy him.

This whole "BIDEN IS TEH DUMB" is preparation for how the right-wing media will handle the asswhipping Biden hands Ryan. They'll find some small miscue Biden made and harp on it, to try to keep the narrative on how dumb Biden is rather than how badly he whipped their golden boy.

Sorry, but waterboarding is pretty inhumane in my book.

I thought we were supposed to be better than third world countries when it comes to treating prisoners of war.

Silly me I suppose.

Well, if you are comparing "torture" (waterboarding) to the policy of no capture/death, waterboarding is some hot mess.

Fun fact about Joe Biden:

When the SEALS raided Bin Laden's compound, they seized a lot of Al Qaeda training and operative materials. Later on when analysts were combing through it, they came across a sort of "What to do if you run into X," like if you have a clear shot at Hillary Clinton, take it, etc. In an assassination attempt against Obama, Joe Biden was to be left alive at all costs, because a live Joe Biden as President of the United States would cause more damage to America than outright killing him.

/love the guy, I just find that story hilarious
