| CavalierEternal The Gaslight Anthem and Gallows are hipster bands now? This headline has The English Major's stink all over it. |
||
| Bob_Laublaw All I can contribute here is that Dallas Green is a d-bag. |

| CavalierEternal Bob_Laublaw: All I can contribute here is that Dallas Green is a d-bag. Apparently, so is Wade MacNeil. Classy move by Fallon to totally turn the other cheek and even start dropping compliments on him. As of 12PM EST, MacNeil had yet to reply to any of Fallon's comments. Well color me shocked. |

Agreed on the classy move bit. He now occupies the high ground. |

| CavalierEternal Lorelle: CavalierEternal: The Gaslight Anthem and Gallows... Who?? Bands young people know. Damn kids with their hippin' and hoppin' and their backwards baseball caps and their Pogs... |

Tweets? Meh, I'm not impressed. Mary is strapping on a rubber penis. "Steely Dan III from Yokohama," she says, caressing the shaft. /Fezzes *are* cool if you wear them ironically enough! //Strapon spelled backwards is "noparts". //Just sayin' |
||
| Lorelle CavalierEternal: Bands young people know. Damn kids with their hippin' and hoppin' and their backwards baseball caps and their Pogs... I like this quote FTA: "Bands like this go on about how Nebraska or Blonde on Blonde changed their lives, but when you hear their music it's just a Blink 182 beat and a fart noise." |

SinisterDexter: upload.wikimedia.org Actually Biatches Ain't Shiat is a pretty cold diss. And Dr. Dre's Dre Day is one too, especially in video form. Bonus, both songs diss the same guy, Eazy-E. |

Unlikable: Mentioning another band in an otherwise unrelated song does not make it scathing. This os scathing I prefer Paul's reply song "Me Hates You Yeah Yeah Yeah" |

LewDux: I prefer Paul's reply song "Me Hates You Yeah Yeah Yeah" Yeah at least Paul gets the last laugh (well the last everything actually). |

And that goes for all of you punks in the press That want to start shiat by printin' lies instead of the things we said That means you Andy Secher at Hit Parader, Circus Magazine Mick Wall at Kerrang, Bob Guccione jr. at Spin What you pissed off 'cause your dad gets more pu$$y than you? /obscure? |

You've got a lot of nerve to say you are my friend. When i was down, you just stood there grinning. You've got a lot of nerve to say you have a hand to lend you just want to be on the side that's winning. (and so on) Dylan's target there was pretty well understood to be primarily Phil Ochs and his other critics in the "folk" movement who called him a "sellout" when he plugged in. Ochs committed suicide not too long after that, as I recall. |
||
| SockMonkeyHolocaust Man, where would we be without the Yacht Rock series? No one would have a clue about Steely Dan's dark sarcasm, that's for sure. |
||
| Skarekrough
The Eagles and Steely Dan were douchebags when they did it then. And shockingly enough they're still douchebags now. |

| Cargo 497.5 Feet of Rope: Bonanza Jellybean: Subby, should forget about the flatness of his hat and work on his English. /obscure? Yes, that reference might actually be obscure. Which is too bad because that is such a great album and really demonstrated how significant his contributions were. /unless the reference I'm thinking of was originally a reference to something else altogether |

Joan Baez wrote this haymaker about Bob Dylan: Well you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes the girl on the half-shell Would keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington Square Our breath comes out white clouds Mingles and hangs in the air Speaking strictly for me We both could have died then and there Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague Because I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid |
