Networks spend millions on research to plan their schedules for the highest possible ratings, so the only reason why Mitt Romney's tax return story won't die is because it's a global conspiracy by "activist old media"

Or maybe because most people suspect that he is a criminal tax evader who escaped prosecution by taking the 2009 Swiss account tax amnesty?

It's true. Certainly no prominent Republicans have called for him to release his tax returns.

A man running for the highest office in the land, and who is campaigning on the strength of his business and financial acumen, should totally be allowed to hide his tax record from the public. Especially when the few documents that he has released appear to show evidence of fraud.

Yeah, Right.

He has released what is federally required, he has been as transparent as most other presidential candidates

Really? When was the last presidential candidate who only released one years worth of tax returns?

Oh wait, this is Breitbart. I forgot to them Romney's tax returns = Obama's indonesian madrassa kindergarten application.

Is there a reason FOIA requests can't be filed for a list of people who participated in the 2009 Tax Amnesty? It seems like granting amnesty from prosecution should be public information.

I don't think Romney didn't do anything illegal. I just think his tax returns will show the degree to which he sold out America for his personal benefit. And what a ridiculously low amount he paid on his taxes for someone in the top .1%.

How criminally stupid is Romney to take a position that directly contradicts what his father's stance was? Holy Dinner Plates, Mitt! We didn't have to go outside your own farking family to find someone that thinks you're up to something! You've been a politician for years! Did you think this moment was never going to come?

Then again, I'm expecting smarts and a little pre-planning from a guy that straps his dog to the roof of his car.

humm, could be it.

and the fact that Obama has released his birth certificate and 11 years of tax returns kinda' suggests that Mittens Rmoney has some ground to cover to catch up if he wants a snowball's chance in hell of winning in Nov.

I'd agree if I thought Americans were paying attention and hadn't reelected Bush Jr a few years before voting the Tea Party into power in '10.

It's the same as Mitt's stance on Blind Trusts. He said himself that they're the oldest ruse in the book, except when they're his blind trusts and he of course has no say in them whatsoever.

The fact that the media wants government forms as evidence shows how biased they are. As we all know, Democrats love government and Republicans hate government, so of COURSE government documentation will be provided to support Democrats and harm Republicans!

The fact that the media is willing to treat the claims of the State of Hawaii as more accurate than the claims of non-partisan private citizen Orly Taitz or thinks that a form 1040 is a more accurate estimate of a person's tax liability than the words from a candidate's own mouth that he swears are true is a disgrace.

Of course, no one cares about the unemployment rate, GDP growth, the price of gas, the price of food, the fact that Syria is in full-blown civil war, Iranian nukes, the coming burst of the higher-ed bubble, inflation, taxes, etc. What everyone really cares about are Mitt Romney's tax returns...

I suspect there's an unstated reason why Romney isn't releasing more than 2 years of returns: because the more the Democrats whine about Mitt Romney's taxes, the more unhinged they become. The more oxygen they take up with meaningless chickenshiat, the less they have for issues that might actually matter to voters who don't already drink DNC Kool-Aid by the bucketfull.

So how much would a copy of his returns be worth? I'm guessing a few million but then again if I had them I would release them for nothing. I mean how many folks can say they single handed destroyed a rich scumbags political career?

The only way shows get good ratings is if they are things the public wants. If Romney's lack of returns has been shown to draw in viewers, it must be something America wants.

I'd just like to thank that shiatstain of a website for being stupid enough to keep this issue going.

After all, the best way to try to move past an issue that embarrasses your candidate is to keep bringing it up, right?

I hope they post at least one story about it every day.

Article goes full retard by sentence 2:

He has released what is federally required, he has been as transparent as most other presidential candidates?

No. No he hasn't. Candidates in the recent past had released more than one year of taxes by this point in the campaign.

Also, it's not the "old media" asking, it's everyone including the internet at large. I think this issue is MORE prominent in NEW media like blogs and online news sources.

Article is so full of fail it hurts.
