Could there be a movement of "Democrats for Romney" like "Democrats for Reagan" brewing?

What if Mount Rushmore was made of worn sweat socks instead of granite, and instead of ex-presidents, featured aliens wearing lucha libre masks?

I like how he has absolutely no statistical evidence in the article at all, just conjecture from his friends. But we should believe him because all of his closest friends are Democrats. Not those "African American, Latino or lockstep" ones, but " intelligent, caring, middle-class Democrats"

Well that was a fruitless exercise in navel gazing. I could just as easily and pointlessly ask, "Could there be Republicans who come to their senses and vote Obama?"

Several months ago, Facebook was suggesting a list of pages I might like.

One of them was "African Americans for Romney". That was about as amusing to me as this drivel.

Why couldn't a regular Democrat vote for Romney? He's a liberal. In a lot of ways, even more so that McCain.

I know that a rabid Farklib couldn't do it, but a regular Democrat could.

Boy is it ever:

This is a Hillary Clinton supporter website. That's something some have forgotten. We don't write about Hillary Clinton as much these days but we try to mention her and what was done to her in 2008 as much as possible and inject 2008 into the current campaign cycle whenever even remotely possible.

We do write quite a bit about Barack Obama. That's because step 1 in bringing back a sane Democratic Party of Hillary Clinton/FDR, not the current Obamination of Dims, is the removal of Barack Obama and his treacherous enablers.

To that end, sending the trash back to Chicago, we have opinionated frequently on what the Republicans could/should do. We understand if Republicans tell us to "f*ck off, we don't need your help". But thus far we have provided good advice to Republicans some of which we know has been utilized.

And some Republicans will do the opposite. Same as about every other election.

This whole article was totally realistic. I'd say you could ask my girlfriend, Selma Hayek...but at the moment she's busy in my bedroom going down on Jennifer Aniston and getting rode like a horse by Mila Kunis while she wears only a cowboy hat, while a completely naked Rosario Dawson plays with her nipples and strokes Jennifer's thighs. Frankly, I don't even know how I'm typing this while they all fight over who gets to blow me for the next hour.

Hopefully I won't have to supply any real proof and my credibility and my word will stand on it's own and you'll see what a horrible predicament Obama is in with his liberal base.

If you guys can take Harry Reid's late night anonymous phones calls about Romney's taxes seriously, why can't I consider that some Democrats might vote for someone like Romney? He didn't become the governor of Massachusetts by being the most conservative person on the planet. That state is so blue, I'm surprised the people don't look like Smurfs.

Right. Because the VP does so freakin' much in our system. Ryan will probably be running the place in a few weeks if Romney wins.

Isn't one of the main Dem talking points on the campaign trail to beat Romney up about Romneycare?

I tried to actually read the article, but couldn't get past one of the first lines.

"I'm not talking about those African Americans, Latinos and lockstep Democrats who'll blindly vote for Obama no matter how high unemployment may be or what shape this country may be in."

He pretty much stated outright that he dismisses the opinions or political views from people of color. They aren't "blindly" voting for Obama or Democrat. That's simply the best option available by a large margin.

MeinRS6: Isn't one of the main Dem talking points on the campaign trail to beat Romney up about Romneycare?

Yes. Because Romney wants to repeal the national version of it, so that's not exactly a liberal position he holds, now is it?

And that's leaving off the fact that Romneycare is based on a conservative idea and is a big handout to insurance companies. An actual liberal plan would be an expansion of Medicare or at the very least having a public option to compete with private insurance companies.

Face it. There will certainly be a few Democrats who vote for Romney for whatever reason. It isn't a movement of any size that will change the outcome of the election, though. So yes, the premise is ridiculous.

My mother, who is very conservative, won't vote for Romney. She's even mentioned voting for Obama, which shocked the hell out of me. Might be the Mormon thing, but I think she just doesn't like his personality and blatant lying.

He didn't become the governor of Massachusetts by being the most conservative person on the planet.

I think you already know the answer to that one. Today's Romney is nothing like that Romney.

That's one of the big problems with the old guard of the Repub party. Picking people because it is "their turn", or because the old guard thinks that a candidate is liberal enough for the press not to lynch them every 5 minutes. They need to get over that. The press is going to be opposed to the Repub candidate no matter how liberal he is, so why not give the people a real choice to make between the two candidates. The worse they can do is lose - and they did that anyway with McCain.

There are some real differences in the way that Romney and Obama talk. There are a lot of us that are unconvinced that there would be a lot of difference between they way they govern. Of course, this is true on both sides, largely due to being constrained by congress. But a real leader with the people behind him for his ideas is a lot less constrained by congress in practice. Congress is full of whores that will go along if they think it will help them.

I was excited to vote for Jon Huntsman. Sure he had a few policies that I disagreed with, but the GOP desperately needs a reboot. I thought he was conservative enough to be a bridge and intelligent/measured enough to take the White House. I was wrong, again.

To be fair, it's a join effort. Obama is doing a great job at pushing many 2008 voters away and that helps Romney as well. Romney certainly couldn't do it alone.

Huntsman is liberal enough to fit the bill for the old guard, but it was not "his turn". Romney has been running for president for a long time, so he got the nod. Huntsman has got to put in more leg work, write more books that no one cares about, and go on the Sunday shows and denounce Republicans as extreme every week for a few years, and then he may get his shot. I'm sure the RINO crowd would like to push a Huntsman/Crist(if he would come out) ticket in 2016 if they can't win this November.

You are probably right. Either way it appears that Huntsman thinks he has no chance in the current party. I'm not sure if he'll renounce the party, but I think he's done, sadly.

Next will be Christie or Rubio.
