I take it there's no mercy rule in Mississippi.

Glad he scored some points, but at 64-6 he comes off as a bully. But that's football, amirite?

Heck, our high school team in Texas lost by 70 points last year.

But did he put out a bounty on the opposing QB?

That's Texas HS football. Serious business.

Yeah, he might be a bit overqualified for the job, but he does bring in the booster cash.

According to Maxpreps, the 64 points sets the school record for most points in a game, beating the old mark of 62 set in 2006.
But on the other hand they beat this same team 52-0 last year.

Still, it's good to see old Brett out there. Who could figure that with his ego that he'd want to be an assistant coach at a high school?

He was just havin' fun on the sideline. He was just drawin' plays up in the dirt on the sideline. He'd coach for free if he could. He's just the world's biggest kid coachin' out there. No one has more fun than he does.

And when coach sends a play in, no one does it the way he does. The players are almost gettin' their hands broke they way he sends plays in. The window is open for a split second, but he sends that play in.

How long until Favre enrolls in high school and plays on the team?

You know, if I was a kid on this team, having Brett Farve as my OC would be pretty farkin' cool.

And high school football games can get out of control like that if one team has a good running back, and the other team can't stop the run. What is a kid to do once he's busted through your line backers and your safety's are about to break down in tears? Fall down so you don't feel bad?

Thank God we have ESPN to give us daily updates of Favre's job as an assistant coach at a high school. I was getting worried that they wouldn't be able to shoe-horn him into every episode of Sportscenter. Clearly those worries were unfounded.

Man, I sure am looking forward to Tebow's 26th birthday, though!

Good on him. He has the game in his bones, and can't let it go. Now he has another outlet and kids will benefit. First ballot, and blah blah blah.............

I had no idea Favre was doing this. That's pretty cool. And those kids on the team! How cool for them to have a chance to see the pictures of Favre's dick that their moms and girlfriends will eventually receive.

Looks like he's having fun with the kids, and teaching them how to play a game that will influence their life forever. Good for Brett.

So in other words, a win is a win and good job, but don't get too excited yet.
Brent will get as big as that Kansas coach if he keeps eating cupcakes.

You've obviously never played football before. Mercy rule? I've never heard of a mercy rule.

Have you seen the stats? Were all 64 points scored by the starters? What should they do, go up by 35 and then just stop trying? What does that teach your kids?

Twice NFL teams have come back from down 35-3 to win the game. Where do you "draw the line"? When should they stop trying?

/sickening
//if you don't want to lose that bad, stop the offense from scoring

Exactly. It was 41-6 at the half, and in high school, that can happen. You pull your starters, make sure everybody on the team gets some playing time, and, in this case, win the second half 13-0. Yeah, it sucks to be on the receiving end of a beating like that, but that's football. Sometimes, you're just not as good.

There's a team of kids who are going to think of Brett Favre every time they see film of the Ol' Gunslinger, and they're not going to think of the "will he retire or won't he?" end of his career. They're just going to think "Hey, look! It's Coach! He was younger then..."

I'm not an ESPN fan anymore and they definitely beat Favre stories into the ground, but what the hell do they have to do with a story from Yahoo?

I have this image in my head of Brett Favre the offensive coordinator trying to draw some lines in the dirt and eventually giving up and saying "Screw it, everyone get open."

So it's just like when he was  a quarterback.

This is EXACTLY where my mind went: "I wonder if he introduced himself by showing or texting the kids pictures of his junk?"

They won their first game of 2011 52-0. Maybe they should have remembered their defense this time...

Having been on the wrong side of several 60 or more point deficits in high school, I can only say.... shut up.

The kids dont care. they arent seven. Let them play and stop worrying about their feelings.

Yup, plus once you're down 45-3 you can start running 9 man blitzes on the QB and that will cause the other team to slam the brakes on and max protect or sub in an expendable QB.
