| MaudlinMutantMollusk quickdraw: MaudlinMutantMollusk: Akin! DRINK! Dude - do you want me to die of alcohol poisoning? ♫ Sends shivers down my spine Fark's gone Akin all the time... ♫ |
||
| Weaver95 not to defend the asshat in question but...if I were facing the sort of backlash that he's facing...I'd go hide from the world too. |
||
| unyon I'm particularly fond of the way Piers Morgan ended that. |
||
| fusillade762 +1 subby. I larfed. |
||
| fusillade762 Maybe the chair's not empty but Akin's just really, really tiny? |

You Democrats should pray to Obama that Akin stays in. |

Vindibudd: You Democrats should pray to Obama that Akin stays in. We are! We are! That sort of stupidity AND hubris makes for a great election and shows exactly how well the GOP has a handle on their candidates. |

Addictinginfo.com is saying Akin plans to drop out of the race tomorrow - anyone have a more reliable source? |
||
| dookdookdook Dana Loesch seems to have chased him off. As one of CNN's resident RWNJs, she was probably aware of how awful an idea it would be for him to give a non-softball (read: non-Fox) interview right now. Unfortunately, Fox has thrown him overboard, and he must be desperate to get on national TV to "clarify" his remarks before his electability is completely trashed. http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/08/ 21/cnns-loesch-does-not-want-aki n -to-appear-on-cnn/189462 (why does Fark hate Mediamatters links? Can't submit them anymore, can't even embed them.) |

Your request was denied because of its content categorization: "News/Media;Audio/Video Clips" Stupid work filters. Anyways, it was a good headline. Guess I'll watch the clip in the morning. |

Not a big fan of Piers...until tonight. /this has been a fun news cycle if you are a progressive. *popcorn. |

Piers should invite Akin back on for an interview with no political questions. But he should also book an 8th grade health teacher who can explain to him how female biology actually works. |

dookdookdook: Dana Loesch seems to have chased him off. Seeing her defend Akin on Twitter Sunday was enough to make the Dalai Lama lose all hope for humanity. |

| insertsnarkyusername
Did he call Akin a "twat" at the end of that clip? |

insertsnarkyusername: Did he call Akin a "twat" at the end of that clip? TV hosts don't like guests that bail at the last minute, no matter what their politics are. |
||
| LordOfThePings
"He said 'yes' then 'no.'" Is that a rape joke? |
||

"legitimate interview" "Piers Morgan" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No. Like all of CNN now, save two hosts, he consistently fails to challenge politicians on their constant stream of fact-allergic bullshiat, That being said, good on him just this once. |

meat0918: His electability crashed and burned the moment those words left his mouth Pretty much this. Not only that, he probably took Ryan down with him because you know that will keep coming up over the next two months. Romney had it lucky when it was just about his tax returns, now he's going to halfheartedly talk about the Republican War on Women. |

| FlashHarry MaudlinMutantMollusk: Akin! DRINK! i love how all the fark independents™ are saying that this thing has been beaten into the ground, when it's really only day-two. can you imagine if obama has said something like this? they'd be riding it out to the election! the funny thing is, if akin stays in as he claims, he may hand a once-safe GOP pickup to the dems and prevent a takeover of the senate (like sharron angle did in '08). let's hear it for the tea party! |

Seriously, I wish Todd Akin and everyone like him could get infected with Tumbu Flies, to have their larva burrowing around under his skin, and then have to deal with some legislator telling him he has to let the worms continue eating him until they cocoon and hatch into flies. Just so he knows how it feels to have his body invaded and then being forced to let the invader continue having its way with him. Because, after all, it's not the maggot's fault he got infected, right? That would be so pro-life. |

Romney had it lucky when it was just about his tax returns, now he's going to halfheartedly talk about the Republican War on Women. Folks...while, as a MO resident, I do appreciate your generosity of spirit in assuming non KC/STL MO voters have 4 functioning brain cells, I shudder to inform you that Akin is still considered, by many Show-Me-Staters, to be their dood (i.e., not McCaskill!) It matters not to these mid westerners that the pen I tucked behind my ear before typing has infinitely more wisdom than Congressman Akin: Why should the voters be concerned with an astounding lack of intellect and reason when all that matters is the 'R' emblazoned by his name? The hatred the GOP here has for McCaskill is seriously amazing. I'm not thrilled with her, (tax issues and some looking the other way for some prosecutorial stuff with her hubby a while ago.) but she hangs out with that black dood, and, while KC and STL tend to be a bit more rational in assessing one's character and qualifications based on something more than the degree of melanin one houses in their body, Sadly, this state may as well be stuck in 1840 when you travel outside of I-70. I gather Akin was unable to go to the interview for two reasons: hastily putting together his half-assed apology, and 2, GOP was going the full court press to get his ass out of the race and put up Steeleman before today ends. When the head of the GOP tells you not to show up at their party (As Prebus did yesterday), and you were in a race that you had a virtual lock on, you are a political leper to people who actually can understand context and reason. Hell..Karl farking Rove is pulling his funding...and still MO GOP'ers will line up in droves to mark the circle next to this jacktard's name, because they want their Amer'ka back from the black dood! /Why yes, I do actually have a long term plan for leaving my home state..why do you ask? |

Those words. "Run away." I want you to be famous for those exact words. I want people to call you Colonel Runaway. I want children laughing outside your door, 'cause they've found the house of Colonel Runaway. And when people come to you and ask if trying to get to me through the people I love! ...is in any way a good idea... I want you to tell them your name. Look, I'm angry, that's new. I'm not really sure what's going to happen now. |
