"A worker drone's body will reject work if the drone's brain knows that it does not have skin in the game. In cases of legitimate penal servitude, such as work-for-welfare or prison chain gangs, harmony is achieved. When we turn to Stalinist unionism, the forcible illegitimate penal servitude cannot be rejected by the drone's body. Skin is removed from the game. The drone's brain is paralyzed. The drone begins to abort all work and smoking crack on the corner is the inevitable result. Jimmy Carter."

I don't understand why republicans fret about the unemployment rate. If a bootstrappy republican needed money, he would start a successful business. Or, if female, get married. Unemployment should be a way to starve liberals.

I'm completely fed up with these plonks always painting the left as less than patriotic, defeatist, hand wringing, unamerican, allergic to victory or success. One doesn't have to walk around wrapped in flags like some red, white and blue burrito constantly spouting jingoism and vagueries and predicting the end of the world as we know it to care for America, or it's citizens. The world, and everything in it, changes always. It always has and it always will. The whole thought and theory of being a conservative and clinging to the old ways as some fit plan to make sure things work out well is stupid by nature. The reason the nation isn't like it was in the late 1700s or the 1950s is because things change and things must change with them. The ridiculous notion that we should live like the founding fathers or the post WWII generation isn't conservative, it's regressive. But go ahead and keep thinking you're fixing everything, and everyone else is the problem, GOP douchebags. You seem to have no trouble constantly being on the wrong side of history.

Republicans are also into funny accounting. Here in Texas if Gov good hair was in the privater sector his accountants would get him a long jail term.

because libtard, then it funnels more money to the socialist-plantation creating a USA where people are suddenly content with living in a studio apartment and eating mac and cheese every night you aren't eating hotdogs.

How is he wrong? The number of jobs created by the republican party hasn't had anything to do with the unemployment rate; primarily because the number of jobs they've created is 0.

It doesn't have to make sense for the derp brigade to suck it up. It's classic Rovian projection: take whatever negative thing you are doing and accuse your opponent doing it. The typical uneducated and willfully ignorant GOP apologist will take as the God honest truth despite mountains of evidence to the contrary staring them right in the face.

I can't say that I blame the Republicans for using this tactic, their base is dumb enough to fall for it just about every time.

Further thoughts on bum-wrangling: it could potentially be really easy. Just set up an "Office of Bum-Wrangling" and start taking applications from aspiring bum-wranglers. If they don't list a current job, then they're a bum to be wrangled! Put them on a truck and send them across the river to Penn Station, where they'll fit right in immediately. BAM -- unemployment solved.
