A man named Zeus, who lives in an apartment near the scene of the crash, spoke to CBS Atlanta News at the scene of the accident, describing what he saw before the chopper fell. "When I looked out the window, I saw a helicopter on top of CVS, just spinning in circles," Zeus said. "Next thing you know, it just went on down, fell in the highway and blew on up." Southerners have a charming way of saying things. |

Was there a (corporate-owned) mansion nearby? Did they take refuge there only to never be heard from again? /I need to know |

RIP and godspeed, good sirs, doing your best for all of us. Hopefully the boy will be found, so your loss will not have been in vain. |

| Pribar FTA: "At some point during the flight, the aircraft swept one of the tops of one of the power poles ... About half of the landing gear remained on the top of the pole." Damn that was one hell of a hit... /as a vet of many a chopper ride in my green days I have cold shivers just thinking about this. |

I swear when they are interviewing eyewitnesses and one person sounds intelligent and another person speaks like a 3rd grader they will always quote the 3rd grader. |

Damned shame that chopper was destroyed. That's an expensive waste of taxpayers' money. |

Sad to hear about the cops, but I think this thread ruined all missing children stories for me. |
||
| eagles95 carl should have stayed in the house |

| bulldg4life what the hell happened in this thread... |
||
| NIXON YOU DOLT!!!!!
bulldg4life: what the hell happened in this thread... It went places. Fast. *cue music* everybody was kung fu trolling.... |
||
| TheGreatGazoo I figured this thread would have gone in the direction of the chopper being stripped of anything valuable and the cops' wallets being lifted within a minute of it landing. That area isn't exactly the best area of town. |

I dream about the damn helicopter that flies endless circles over my house crashing. I guess you gotta keep the brown folk out of Newport Beach somehow though . |

bulldg4life: what the hell happened in this thread... yeah it seems weird even for a fark cop thread oh well |

bulldg4life: what the hell happened in this thread... I don't know... The game is boring, and I just heard some random dude walking by loudly describe an "anti-pass-too" salad as "it's like, meat, cheese, and peppero-seenees." It seems as relevant as the game. |

This thread looks like a message board for all of Batman's lower-level archvillains. I keep expecting the Joker to call the meeting to order. |

I farking hope this isn't like one of those stupid stories about people jumping into rivers to save their dog/ kid only for themselves to drown and the dog/kid srambling to safety by themselves. Kid better not be in a farking box in the garage. |

On LOH6's the gear are designed to give way easily. They snap off, the mast goes, and they roll. (thus their shape). Know several pilots who have walked away from these....said to be one of the most survivable. Bad luck. /MOS-67v |

FTFA: Police said Haliford and Smiley were up in the chopper searching for a missing 9-year-old boy, who was later found safe, at the time of the accident, and that the low-flying helicopter hit power lines in the area. |

Wasn't that the beginning of First Blood? |

| the_chief
So they didn't find him in the helicopter? |
||
| coldf33t
The boy ran away because he got in trouble at school. His mother is in hysterics over this accident and feels it is her fault. So, cop haters...go find another puddle to play in. This isn't the one. |

I'm still waiting for an answer about the mansion, damn it all. Need to know if it's time to pack up the Zombie Kit(tm) |
||
| Apos coldf33t: Wow..they were looking for a 9 year old. Stand down. Dayum. Really. Goodness knows I've had my share of unjustified run-ins with cops, but these cops perished horribly in the performance of their duties and do NOT deserve to be demonized. But this is Fark, so...... |

mmmm I do like crispy bacon! / Welcome to Fark |

You got what you deserve..pity they didn't give you a good deep cavity search. |

"Next thing you know, it just went on down, fell in the highway and blew on up." /sounds like they lost their tail rotor. Such sad news. :( Thank you gentlemen...for your service, you will be remembered. |

The kid better not be in the barn |
||
| fnordfocus b3x: The kid better not be in the barn Someone's gonna get the needle for this. Do they charge the kid as an adult, or do they charge the mother? |

Goodness knows I've had my share of unjustified run-ins with cops, but these cops perished horribly in the performance of their duties and do NOT deserve to be demonized. But this is Fark, so...... No, you don't understand. Aviation Division cops personally land their helicopters in the middle of nursing homes, and beat old people with their night stick tazers while busting 17 year olds for small bags of pot. And that's not when they're airdropping plant bags on innocent black men. Or something similar to that. I dunno. It's FARK logic. 100% of cops are corrupt tyrants, and no one does it to help others. |

This isn't the one. Unless the cops never ticketed or arrested anybody for committing a victimless crime, then it sure is the one. Karma's a biatch. Adios, Nazis. |
