Tom_Slick: Skyfrog: Just watch, at this rate they'll end up buying Nickelodeon.Fortunately Viacom is a publicly traded company and the SEC would probably not allow it.
darkvstar: imagine if you will a future in which Disney owns everything you see on big screen and small. no, no, it makes me shudder to think.
Skyfrog: Disney really doesn't need to own everything. Just watch, at this rate they'll end up buying Nickelodeon.
TheOriginalEd: thatboyoverthere: alechemist: don't tell the bronies. Please this just means there is a chance of them being in the next Kingdom Hearts game./And then we make Japanese bronies.KH + MLP would create a tornado of awkward so powerful I dont think the world would survive.
ZeroCorpse: TFA made one thing clear to me: Dark Horse Comics is screwed.
OnlyM3: What, you're worried Disney will turn starwars into something silly and cartoonish? That would be a real shame.
dervish16108: A lot of fans used to say Star Wars will get better when George Lucas passes away, and I think that implied that it would be more adult oriented than child market pandering. Fat chance of that happening now!
farkeruk: dervish16108: A lot of fans used to say Star Wars will get better when George Lucas passes away, and I think that implied that it would be more adult oriented than child market pandering. Fat chance of that happening now!It wasn't about it being more "adult oriented". The original Star Wars movie wasn't. It was a general family entertainment. I don't expect Star Wars to be like a PT Anderson or Darren Aronovsky film. But family entertainment can be great. E.T, The Incredibles, Dumbo, Lord of the Rings, the first Pirates of the Carribean, Raiders of the Lost Ark. These are awesome movies. And honestly, based on what's recently come out of Disney, I trust them to do something good with it as much as anyone else.
Gabrielmot: Is this real?
Petey4335: So Mickey Mouse: CC: BBBCreature - MouseTap, Sac: Destroy target childhood1/1
Techhell: I think I'd prefer if Disney developed its own properties rather than buying all the currently created ones. I dunno - I love Disney, but the idea of so much being owned by Disney makes me wary. Who is going to push Disney to do better if there aren't any competitors out there that can really stand up to them?On the flip side, maybe this will mean that someone will be able to hit a goldmine with a new non-Disney property that is popular because it's great AND it's not Disney? Get the Two-For-One deal on popularity: "I'm cool and I'm NOT the popular kid!"/... then Disney brings out its little replica of "Not Disney-Propertyland!" as part of its Magic Kingdom amusement park and buys the not-Disney property anyway...
