| Although you might think that the members of the Millennial Generation are soft and weak, you should know that due to the recession they've adapted to only eating out once a week |

My generation is the greatest for I have nostalgia on my side. |

| BizarreMan That's okay. They should still be used to eating Ramen. |

President Obama will get this economy going, and then they will be able to afford to eat out whenever and where ever they like. |

Once they start eating each other, we'll know they're really frugal. |

obama will further plummet our economy into a sinkhole. |

If you know how to cook eating out gets really boring unless you're going to very high end restaurants. Too many places just reheat food or try and charge $20 for a plate of pasta and shrimp. |

Propain_az: President Obama will get this economy going, and then they will be able to afford to eat out whenever and where ever they like. Only at government approved restaurants though. Can't have them eating unhealthy food. |

Somewhat poor people can only afford to eat out once a week. REALLY poor people can only afford to eat out seven times a week. /somewhat serious //McNutrition |

There are restaurants between Olive Garden and Per Se.... /well if you don't live in flyover country. |

Pretty good for a bunch of people that have been dead for almost 1,000 years. |

| InfrasonicTom Why then is the line at the Chipotle near my house always 40 people deep? |

Once a week LESS, not once a week. Still eating out ~4x per week vs. 5x per week 5 years ago. |

34 year olds are Gen-Xers, not "millennials." |
||

How does 202 times per year = 1x per week, subby? I'd also be curious as to what they consider 'dining out'. Is fast food included? |

i love websites that have a big pop-up that states "you must have javascript enabled to view this site." meanwhile, right behind the pop-up, i can see the site clear as day. so i obviously don't need javascript enabled, since i can see the site just fine, they just want me to turn it on for some other reason. |

People eat out 202 times a year! That's crazy. I'm guessing people either never go out like me and people in Houston who eat out for every meal to get this average. |
||
| Fark_Guy_Rob
Umm - subby: Millennials will eat out 202 times annually this year 52 weeks per year. That's nearly *four times* per week. Looking at how fat everyone else, I'm okay with this. |

Oddly enough - I'm poor - so I'm getting a big kick out of this. Last time I ate out was at a Papa John's in early September. // Sucks to be me. |

The other 20 times, they are raiding the fridge of their parents or friends. |

oukewldave: People eat out 202 times a year! That's crazy. I'm guessing people either never go out like me and people in Houston who eat out for every meal to get this average. The other thing to consider is that there are more than 1 meal a day. This stat probably also counts the people who grab a egg mcmuffin at the drive through or a quick chick-fil-a sammy for lunch. If you figure the average person eats 2.5 meals a day, 202 is only one fifth of their meals. So the stat is not that crazy as it sounds |

I can't seem to stay away from the Old Country Buffet lately. I really don't know why. Been going there for lunch, like, every day. Does that count as fine dining? |

Carth: If you know how to cook eating out gets really boring unless you're going to very high end restaurants. Too many places just reheat food or try and charge $20 for a plate of pasta and shrimp. This. I hate going somewhere and eating food when the combined cost in time, gas, and money means I could have made something better at home for less. |

"Millennials will eat out 202 times annually this year vs. 252 times a year for their age group back in 2007." What? Is this serious? Are they counting swinging by Dunkin Donuts for a coffee on the way to work? I seriously sit down in a restaurant and order something to eat maybe twice a month. Who eats a full, sit-down meal almost every day? I don't even know rich people who do that. |

Do you make your lunch every day for work or do you buy some food and eat it? I don't eat much at work. I bring fruit and sometimes some carrots and I'll occasionally get some pretzels from the vending machine. I doubt vending machine counts as eating out. I would say I eat out about 45-50 times a year when I add up the 3-5 times at a restaurant and the occasional Subway/Burger King/Wendys/Pizza. |

When I was a kid, there was this video game for the Sega Genesis called Final Fight. You'd walk down the street beating people up, and every once in a while you'd punch a trash can and a roast chicken would fall out and restore your health. Yeah... That's pretty much what the Old Country Buffet is like. |

I can see them loading up for the day or so with one meal. /Man I would not want to be poor. |

Including the times when I go out for lunch at work, I eat out about 50-60 times a year. Even then it's usually only because the family has snarfed all the leftovers from the fridge by the time I'm getting ready to leave for work. /I'm the cook in the family, and enjoy doing it. |
