If your province is world-famous for its traditional ancestral dance that honors the time when ghosts followed an incarnation of Buddha out of a forest, don't ruin the festival by advertising it with a video of the dancers doing 'Gangnam Style'

Yeah, and Mexico is known for both some gorgeous Day of the Dead displays as well as Tijuana donkey shows, Japan for tea ceremonies and tentacle porn, Rome for the pomp of the papacy and.... being Rome.

It's a big country. Embrace that fact.

You have not experienced Gangnam style until you have seen it in the original Klingon - Oppa KLINGON style!

Yeah, that's odd. Like using chocolate eggs and bunnies to celebrate the religious holiday when Jesus was supposed to have risen from the dead. Or flying reindeer and presents for his birth.

Don't forget the story about the guy that built a big boat and saved all the people and animals on the planet from a giant flood that some guy created because he was pissed off.

I went to a Mexican Day of the Dead Festival once.

They didn't play Dark Star.

Yeah, because if there's one thing religions are known for, it's sheer austerity when promoting themselves. It's not like there have ever been Christian Rock festivals for people who claim Martin Luther as a guide, or Buddhists who spent millions to make a Buddha Park in Kathmandu, or a church of and for the poor that isn't decked out in megatons of marble and gold leaf.

I actually like the idea of bad pop singers for faith.

You'll get over it. It's just part of how things happen.

If it engages people, then it's done what it was supposed to do.

If for that reason, why not just watch the Kpop girl groups instead? SISTAR is known to do that. Mmmm Bora...

Would we have known about the ghost festival had they not decide to promote it with Gangnam Style? Exactly.
