If someone was going to paint a giant mural in front of my house I'd like to have some input on what it will look like. I'm kinda siding with the religious wackos on this one.

God will reward them for this brave act. Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history.

Fish are satanic. Scales are satanic. Got it and couldn't agree more. You know what tips the scales more than fish? Fat people. And you know what region of the country has the highest rates of obesity? The South. Therefore, Southerners are satanic.

If anyone deserves to be slapped silly, tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail, it's the evilangelical "Christians" who would just love to bring out a modern version of the Spanish inquisition. Their first priority whenever one of their own wins an election is to try and shut down the public library.

Well, whether or not the residents had input is one thing. Painting over a mural because you think it is "satanic" is something else entirely. I note that in this case the residents are NOT complaining because the thing was ugly or that it doesn't meet standards; they are upset because it was "satanic" and that's not a valid reason to just up and paint over something.

It was a pretty ugly mural that seems to have been put up without full permission on property not owned by the city.

translation: pretentious art dbags decided to spread their "vision" in a place they had no right to be. Not every wall needs a mural.

When I was working at the Bellagio, we had some casino porters who got upset about Satanic exhibits in the art gallery there.

They thought the Russian exhibit with the Faberge Eggs was the work of the Devil.

So...if Snakes are satanic, what about Doctors who's emblem is a pole with two snakes wrapped around it? What about those Snake Worshiping Christians?

If it is a reference to the part in the Bible where the Serpent gets Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, then they may be doing the wrong thing. From what I understand, when the Serpent tempted Eve, it wasn't snake-like. It didn't become snake like until God punished it for it's role in the temptation of Eve. Even the Bible mentions this part where God is cursing the Serpent telling it that it will forever crawl on it's belly, to be stepped on by man's boot (before man actually invented the boot...go figure), so, follow this logic, and you'll see that the snake is actually God's creation, so to paint over it might actually be insulting God.

Some people lack the right amount of reference to distinguish between words for what they don't like (or like); they've simply grown up to classifiy things only within the bounds of their religion. Therefore, when they say something is 'satanic', they may well mean that they really think it's 'ugly' - they just don't have the word for it.

Actually the snakes on a pole is from the part of the Bible where God healed the Israelites by having them look at the snake on a pole that Moses was holding up. The snakes bit the people because of their unbelief.

Christians who handle snakes don't worship them. They do that because there's scripture that says true believers will not be harmed by the venom of snakes.

They die regularly from this misconception, but they don't worship snakes.

So I am sure with Atlanta being the Black version of San Fran, the gheys did it to the mural.

You know, at this point I'm just going to make a list of random things that are "satanic," find a Bible verse to justify it, and just go through the South accusing every God-botherer I can find of being in league with the Devil. Grits? Satanic! Pickup trucks? The devil's transport! Fish stickers? The mark of the Prince of Lies himself!

It was ugly. Look at Dameron 's closeup. I get freaked out by the disembodied human nipples bellybutton hands on the personfishsnake. It's a chimera and could give kids nightmares. And a chimera may as well be satanic although I know the South overuses that term.

Hmmm.

Most symbols that people use have a story behind them and are used to make a statement. Some of the most famous are the so-called Christian symbols such as the cross and the fish. Whilst they provide a useful mean of identification, all of these are carnal and nowadays used promiscuously by everybody, thus it is best for us to avoid using them. Moreover they all have a precedent story of paganism, a thing we Christian must avoid, even if some says the pagan origins have now been lost in history. The wearing or keeping such symbols has the tendency to bring veneration to them and thus returning to paganism. Besides, what saith the Word of God: God is a spirit, and the ones worshiping Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)

What are we to do with all these "Christian" symbols that have pagan (satanic) roots? Absolutely nothing. And what agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? (2 Corinthians 6:15)

A godly man once said about people wearing a cross hanging from the neck: "we ought to hang on the cross ourselves rather than the cross hanging from our necks".

Another one said: "when in doubt, leave it out".

Whether or not these pagan symbols have lost their original pagan meanings in our modern era (a doubtful situation) it is best not to be involved with them, we do not need them. Moreover, another secure test is to see what the world does with them: if the world loves them, then they are not godly for the world hates anything from God, and our stern warning is this: Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, (1 John 2:15)

Therefore a Christian that worships God in Spirit and in Truth has no need to make a physical point for his belief and should not wear any jewellery AT ALL, or make use of symbols, whether he knows if they are Pagan or not. Besides the second commandment forbids the flaunting of such things.

The faith of a Christian will be known by ALL if he puts into practice the word of his Master, Jesus Christ: 34 I give a new commandment to you, that you should love one another; according as I loved you, you should also love one another. 35 By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love among one another. (John 13:34-35)

Right. Those community leaders had some extra paint and were just trying to help. The fact it was painted by the devil himself was coincidence.
