I was just down there today. It's a hell of a mess, and way too big to be just a meth lab explosion.

Of course, that doesn't rule out some tweaker messing with the gas lines.

It's really sad - a 2nd grade teacher and her husband were killed. The school has a delay tomorrow so grief counselors can be ready. My husband and I were just getting to 465 when it happened. My friend that lives 5 minutes away text me that a plane had crashed nearby and they heard a loud explosion and the house shook. I guess the ground shook miles away. The reports that I saw said the house was vacant. My first thought was meth lab but if the house was vacant there was no one there to report a gas smell. Citizens Gas needs to get their shiat together on these lines. So freaking awful. I hope the victims went quickly and didn't even know what hit them.

Looks like they forget to tell everyone they'd be shooting Hangover 3.

Umm...Holy Shiat!! That is a serious explosion. I've seen a "normal" gas explosion first-hand before and it blew out a wall. This is like MythBusters blowing up that cement truck with high explosives. Damn!!

Heard earlier that a neighbor said the place seemed to be empty- no cars, lights, blinds drawn, etc. So I'm gonna put my money on a slow gas leak from a blown out pilot light or something like that. Fill up a house with the right amount of natural gas and you're right where this place is.

Are you sure that's not a hoax? There was an explosion in Minden, Louisiana a few weeks back that showed up on the weather radar, but that was because it had a mushroom cloud that went 7,000 feet up. (It was an ammo dump bunker that blew)

After looking at a picture, it seems to be too big for a meth lab.

So that leaves gas leak, terrorist making bombs gone wrong, ir some sort of fringe event with another universe.

I hope it is the other universe thing.

Yeah but once you hit too much gas you exceed the UEL(Upper Explosive Limit), you'd also need a source of ignition, it wouldn't autoignite, especially considering how low the temperatures have been.

This is a terrible sentence. I don't know what a "Saturday night house" is, this sentence runs on, "destroyed" is somehow a weaker word than "flattened", and no one should wonder why an explosion and fire killed people or destroyed buildings. I get what is being said, but damn is this distracting.
