| On the bright side of Obama's reelection, sales are up. Well, for guns anyway. (With handy pics. of what the press is sure to call AK-47s) |

Aren't these the same people who said Obama would be bad for the economy? |

| Raharu Nofun: Aren't these the same people who said Obama would be bad for the economy? Yes, but they were as always... wrong. |
||
| WhiskeyBender Good friend of mine went to a gun show here in Florida and sold crap loads of guns for outrageous prices. He said he couldn't stop laughing at the rubes. |
||
| clancifer These people never tire of getting fleeced. |
||
| dr_blasto I went to a gun show last weekend with the hopes of picking up some bulk ammunition, but nobody had any. What they did have was a boatload of way overpriced AR-15s. Most of the people with booths are right-wing nutters, but they're clearly not against fleecing other nutters whose brains are soaked with paranoia. |
||
| HST's Dead Carcass It should be noted Obama is coming for YOUR guns. /not really //but the NRA will convince you he is ///no matter what facts and logic say |
||
| GAT_00
This sounds familiar. Can't help but wonder just how freaked these people would be if they voted in the proven gun-grabber. Glad the NRA didn't tell it's members to vote for him... |

| Because People in power are Stupid Target sales are also up: |

| Ennuipoet I wish I owned guns so I could price gouge in the nimrods. |
||
| basemetal A friend of mine called me from a gun show this weekend. Said ammo prices had damn near doubled over last year's prices. Idiot's drive that market increase, give it two years and prices will go down again. |

And like you say, you can't find an SP1 for anything under $1000 unless it is a rusted hulk with a shattered and chipped grip. Which is weird considering you can go to your local Academy and buy a *new* .223, 16" barrel, redneck special for $800 or less (and people are buying them like crazy). |

Gun nuts are nuts when it comes to guns? /you don't say |

Piss away those welfare checks, teabaggers. God knows you don't need any more food. |
||
| pxlboy There is plenty of money to be made from the paranoid right pandering to their fear and xenophobia. All you have to do is find a way to cash in. |

I live in a red state and I am surrounded by privileged tea-party assholes. What sort of handgun do you guys suggest so that I can protect myself once these crazies decide to start "revoultion inc." ??? |
||
| DerPups
ironically im going to try to sell my rifle later today or tomorrow... not cause i want to gouge but because i want to buy my Ninja 300 instead /well the gouging aspect does increase my cashflow... //seriously waited until the election because of this reason |

The south is still steeped in its pre-Civil War mindset. |

| Giltric UberDave: Pretty much. And like you say, you can't find an SP1 for anything under $1000 Well it is a Colt. Trying to compare it to ill machined mom and pop manufacturers like a Stag or DPMS is kind of stupid. |

As someone who bought a bunch of SWHC stock back in August I'm glad the paranoid right is as predictable as always. |

Obama did say that he wants to establish another assault weapons ban. |
||
| degenerate-afro BillCo: [www.majhost.com image 420x600] You laugh, but in 2009 he was considered gun salesman of the year by a number of different publications. |
||
| Raging Thespian Gun sales in America are soaring in the wake of President Barack Obama's re-election with weapons retailers reporting AK-47s flying off shelves "like hotcakes." The Telegraph be trollin'! |

| Giltric HotWingConspiracy: Piss away those welfare checks, teabaggers. God knows you don't need any more food. Some of those red states from the welfare map went blue this election....do you think democrats will ever post the image again? |

Gun shows are hives of stupidity and ignorance. I like going to them to get deals on stuff (idiots selling good milsurp to buy some sub-par AK (Century) or AR). But the people who attend them, and jack prices, are the biggest morons around. The people that Barnum was talking about. |
||
| nytmare
Apparently things are going to change drastically now that Obama is President. |

| China White Tea
Please, no real American would use an AK-47. That's a marxist weapon. |
||
| PiffMan420
Should have bought stock in gun companies before election night. If there's any industry in America that's recession proof, it's the firearms business. The liquor companies might also be a good example. |

I'm debating getting a Sig 551A1 SBR or a AKS-74U Krinkov as my panic purchase. I'm not sure if it is a panic when the paperwork takes 6 months. |

These stupid Teahaddist assholes have driven up prices on ammo to the point that a lefty commie pinko liberal like myself just can't afford a couple of boxes of shells to go out and shoot skeet. Hey, dipshiats: Do you know the only piece of firearms legislation Obummer has signed? You can now take guns into national parks. That's it. Stop driving up prices based on your fantasies. |

Isn't this a repeat of 2008? |

But the people who attend them, and jack prices, are the biggest morons around. The people that Barnum was talking about. Went to a gun show a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 'correct' M1 in excellent condition from some guy walking around. All the parts match July 1943. Probably paid too much for it though. Need to replace the unmodified op rod with a 'new' one and take it to the range. |
||
| nmemkha China White Tea: Please, no real American would use an AK-47. That's a marxist weapon. AKs have their pros. The best one being it still works when dirty and not properly maintained. Definitely a plus in a civil war where basic services and supply lines have broken down. |

Subby lacks any understanding of firearms. The pictured firearms are clearly Glocks. |

| factoryconnection Love him or hate him, Obama has provided effortlessly yet another opportunity for anyone with spare firearms in the safe to SELL HIGH. Now is the time to trim your inventory, if you have "spares" and I know several people that do. Let the free market benefit you directly for once! |

TheNewJesus: I live in a red state and I am surrounded by privileged tea-party assholes. What sort of handgun do you guys suggest so that I can protect myself once these crazies decide to start "revoultion inc." ??? Only you can determine the handgun model and caliber that is best suited for you. Try to find a local gun range that offers a diverse selection of rental firearms. I am pleased with my Springfield Armory XD .45ACP compact, but I do not begrudge anyone who chooses a different model. |

I was dreading something like this happening. I was in my local gun shop the day after the election looking for some solvent. The Herp Derp patrol was in a frenzy. I wanted to get an AR15 for xmas but if the prices are insane forget it. This is why we cant have nice things. Btw, I saw the debates, I thought Obama and Romney both sort of dismissed the gun debate question. Has Obama actually said he'd reinstitute the AWB? That was a real piece of garbage legislation. |
||
| Sybarite I remember I went to buy some rounds for the range shortly after the 2008 election, not even thinking anything about it, and walked into the place I usually purchase from to find the shelves more depleted that I've ever seen them. The guy behind the counter tells me that they've put everything they had in stock on the shelves and it would be a while before they got another shipment. It was only then that it struck me that the place had been emptied by the raving nutbags. I just had to shake my head and laugh. |

Serious firearms enthusiasts know to have their purchases completed and delivered before the party conventions. Then hunker down until April of the following year. The urge is strong to dip into my milsurp supply and sell at a 500% mark-up from November to January, but I can't be bothered, because I didn't plan for that. I buy with a plan towards a year's worth of shooting when I buy my ammo. i have a long-range event in April. I bought my NM ammo last July, enough for nine months of practice and a couple days of shooting. You get a good discount at those volumes. Just check your inventory every six months and make sure you're good for another twelve. |
