This article has a bit more info. A co-worker tried to help him and got bit for his trouble. Both were treated at Nassau Medical Center and have since headed back to Florida.

NY is a state. NYC is a city. Yes, there is a state attached to the city.

I've been through a hurricane and several other severe weather events and have seen how these repair crews operate. At meal times, you can watch their line of trucks pull into some eatery. We have had no less than three OMFG! news stories about how the power workers from other areas have been maltreated in NY. All of them have been proved false. This one is too. The kid's story just doesn't add up.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a true story. I have listened to people call the radio station getting more irate each day. "I HAVE NO POWER! I AM ALWAYS THE LAST TO GET IT!" more and more they complain no one is working and are just screwing around.

Bunch of whiny aholes. I have gotten to the point several times over the last few days where I daydream if beating the crap out of people complaining about not having power. I evacuated to my moms and we were without power for days, and yes it sucks but the power will eventually be restored. Ours was and theirs will too. The house I lived in was completely flooded. The kids and I are homeless, and everyday is a freaking nightmare. We are still shacked up at moms which is a blessing and is the reason I am not biatching. There are others with it way worse still in shelters.

I am normally a very level headed and easy going chick, and if I am ready to assault someone I can see how some ahole who already walks around ready to fight would lose it and take it out on someone who doesn't really deserve it. These power guys came from other states to help us. I've been listening to them biatch for 2 weeks now. What surprises me are two things, one you don't hear of it happening more often and two that these power guys are nice and stayed.

I do apologize if this makes no sense, I have done a lot of babbling lately.
