| CraicBaby They should talk to Roslyn, WA about that. |
||
| timujin The quotes in the headline should have been around "takes place". She may have used the name of the town, but none of it was actually filmed in Forks. They still have tours and stuff, though, it's kind of funny to watch people go around saying "so, if they had actually lived in Forks, that's the high school they would have attended" and stuff like that. /ex-girlfriend is a Twilight fan //we were in Port Angeles anyway ///I highly recommend the area, it's really quite beautiful up there ////and with the local economy being the way it is, every bit helps |
||
| SoothinglyDeranged I stopped in Forks during a backpacking trip with a friend of mine. The only restaurants we could find were two pizza joints and only one was open. The pizza was alright, I suppose, but that the only reason I remember the town, and vaguely at that, is because of the name. Same goes for Humptulips. /hehe, Humptulips |

| Mugato Washington town hopes glow of 'Twilight' saga never dies No, no, no. No more. They made Eclipse and we fall back. They make Breaking Dawn and we fall back. They make part 2 and we fall back. The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further! And I... will make them PAY for what they've done! |

That headline is more poorly written than the books themselves. |

Where it takes place in? How about "where it takes place"? I had to read that misbegotten headline twice to understand it. Sometimes my grasp of grammar is an impediment to understanding the scribblings of the Great Unwashed. |

They filmed it north of my tiny mountain town. All the buildings were sets that are now broken down. You can drive down the logging road to see the cut where the sets used to be. Some megafans come to see the site even though there is nothing there to see. |

The only exposure I've had to Twilight was needing to walk through the Westin in downtown San Francisco while they were hosting a Twilight convention. I was walking through the lobby and thought they had thrown a thousand cats into blenders at once. It turned our to be teenage girls screaming because one of the actors had entered the room, and it was then I realized that the cats would have been more pleasant sounding. |

The last time I was there was before all that. I wonder how much it has changed. |

The headline where awkward prepositions are awkward in is awful in. |

I lived in Forks for a few years... The place really only has one stop light and one grocery/department store. It has nothing outside of the logging industry. Its even more sad now that they have Twilight bullcrap everywhere. Im with the Quileute tribe in my opinion of the whole thing |
||
| Honest Bender Where it takes place in? Really? |

And I'll go on record that I know that because my parents used to live about 5 miles from where (in Oregon) it was filmed, and I stayed in a hotel across the street from The Bridge Studios in Burnaby and they were advertising it on the wall of one of the stages. |

Twilight is more gay than a gay softcore porn movie. |

Better yet, "unfortunately." |

The people I know from Forks mostly wish those books had never been written. |

NobleHam: The people I know from Forks mostly wish those books had never been written. I think they, instead, should turn the fame against the books. Make the stories a little more bloodthirsty, say that the books a romanticizing version of a serial killer/unexplained disappearances, and make the story gruesome. |

Honest Bender: Where it takes place in? Really? I live 90 minutes from Hannibal, MO whose whole economy is based on everything Mark Twain even though he got the hell out of that town as soon as he could. This kind of stuff doesn't surprise me. |

Part of at least one movie was filmed in Portland as well that I know of because of 1) the casting call for it that I answered and 2) they painted over some traffic lights and people were annoyed after that caused some accidents. |

I used to live around Twin Peaks, California where David Lynch used to live. That SOB owes a lot of people royalty checks. |

The movie sucks, the town is mossy, but to the west is a GREAT hiking/camping area, all the way up to Ozette (which is also a great camping area). Seriously, spend a week or so along the coast in September and enjoy the beauty. And the driftwood forts/camps. Just watch out for those killer logs! /only valid through September 2006 // I think that was the last time I was out there. |

I went to Hannibal twice, TWICE, as a kid. My mom called it a vacation. My childhood was a pile of dung at times. /did like the caves |

timujin: The quotes in the headline should have been around "takes place". She may have used the name of the town, but none of it was actually filmed in Forks. Yep. The protip is this: If the setting is anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, it's filmed in Vancover. |

Forks is where you go to buy a bag of chips after going on a hike in the Hoh. It is not where you should go to find sparkly vampires. |

CraicBaby: They should talk to Roslyn, WA about that. Hey, I stopped there last year on my way to Seattle just 'cause I was a Northern Ex fan. I suspect it'll get attention for some time to come. Nice town, too. |

CraicBaby: They should talk to Roslyn, WA about that. At least Roslyn is on the interstate. Forks is in the middle of goddamn nowhere out on the penninsula. |
