In before the Robotech fanboys complain that the Marauder was stolen from Robotech. /Yes, it was. //Know what, though? Battletech > Robotech in every way. |
||
| AntonChigger
That's humorous. In other news, Mechwarrior Online is a fun game. |

In violation of my orders? But I haven't done anything to these miserable micronians; at least, not yet. In the centuries to come, if any of them are left alive, they will speak with terror, the name Lenin!! HAHAHAHA! |

Chalji: Kerensky won't be pleased. Actually he would be! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexande r_Kerensky |

| Satanic_Hamster Article fail; they showed a 2nd picture of a Marauder II that they labeled as a Marauder. |
||
| DjangoStonereaver I'd have gone with a Grasshopper; PPCs aren't very useful in house-to-house combat. Much better to have the lasers & jumpjets. |

Harmony Gold is going to be pissed. /Should have been a Warhammer. Better penetration with the SRM/6 and PPCs. |

Deja vu-sky. |

Warhammer was also Natasha Kerensky's ride so that'd make more sense. |

Honestly I don't see what the problem is. It's about time someone acknowledged the fact that the Russian Republic's reliance on medium class battlemech's like the Shadow Cat, in response to the range of the Marauder's PPCs, was one of the largest strategic errors during the October Revolution. |

The Marauder is not a robot. It is more of a vehicle. /RONG RIVE RIAU! //Why is there not a good XBOX360 Battletech sim? |
||
| Rockstone
AntonChigger: That's humorous. In other news, Mechwarrior Online is a fun game. Not as good as Mechwarrior 2, 3, and 4 though. (I of course, am one of those weird, single player missing folks) |

But Lisa Hayes (Hayase Misa depending on iteration) still rocked as a character. /She really needed to haul off and slug Rick though. A lot. Often. |

I'll need to see more photographic evidence of this. That would make a great thread. |

Id have gone with a Highlander if long range punch was required, or even a Nightstar...2 Gauss rfles and an ER PPC. Though I must say that visually the Stone Rhino is my favorite mech, though the original Marauder IIc is a close second. Asmor: You MAD bro? Depends...which one? The 3R, 9M, etc, etc... |

| RoyFokker'sGhost meanmutton: //Know what, though? Battletech > Robotech in every way. *cough* As a supporter of both franchises, I have to say to the BattleTech fanboys, if BT is better than Robotech, why isn't there a MAC II port to BattleTech? ![]() Not the same loadout for Macross/Robotech, but I'd go with 4 AC20's up top and 3 Large Lasers in each arm for BT. Also, the Battletech animated series lasted for 1 season? Macross has 5 sequel series and is still going strong /let's just forget about Macross 7, mm'kay? |

| MythDragon DjangoStonereaver: I'd have gone with a Grasshopper; PPCs aren't very useful in house-to-house combat. Much better to have the lasers & jumpjets. I'd say they are useful in that once you remove the houses with said PPC, you now have open field combat. |

I'd say they are useful in that once you remove the houses with said PPC, you now have open field combat. That would make an awful lot of debris, which would slow you down (broken terrain movement penalties). Again, the jump jets would be a better asset: Just land on a roof and you knock out the building and anyone in it without cluttering up the field. |

I'd forgotten that one (haven't played BATTLETECH in ages). The only thing about that one is the autocannon. The advantage of the grasshopper is that, aside from the LRM5 (which was never more than an afterthought anyway) it has essentially unlimited ammo since it is only armed with lasers. Yes, its 10 tonnes lighter, but has enough heat sinks that you can almost fire all your lasers every combat round. Its basically a 70 tonne recon 'mec, and that makes it well suited for city combat (as I recall, anyway; like I said, I'm really rusty). |
