5 Hour Energy drink does not have a high caffeine content. Redline however.... bottled meth. Friend of mine was a former meth addict, took a sip of Redline and said it was much stronger than anything he had ever done.

Did they die after drinking one or possibly more than one? 5 hour energy doesn't seem to have any one thing that could be THAT dangerous in small quantities. If you slammed a few of these in one sitting, that could be a problem. I dunno. Like Dr. Tran, I'm not a doctor.

I can't imagine how stupid/callous someone would have to be to drink energy drinks when pregnant.

Redbull is the largest energy drink company and according to their website RedBull sold 4.631 Billion cans worldwide in 2011. And 5 hour energy and monster are making money hand over fist. So with millions of cans/energy shots being sold in the US every year, if there's only 13 deaths that might maybe have involved them in the last 4 years I'm not sure I see that there's a real problem.

Id bet thats the case. Be it for energy while at work, or worse yet to try and get some sort oh high, its likely people are drinking way too much. Most high caffeine drinks/shots like that say right on the bottle not to drink more than one or two in an 8 hour period. If your downing one every hour...thats probably not good.

Also it seems people with heart conditions are drinking the things without any consideration for whats in them, and how it might aggravate the condition.

I drink these once an awhile, that's the key... once in awhile.

Doesn't Tylenol (Acetaminophen) cause about 450 something deaths a year by people taking WAY too much of the stuff? That's what happens when you over exceed the stated dosage morans. 5 hour clearly states not to drink more than 2 in a day. Cafeine can obviously kill you if you take too much. Hell, so can water. I told everyone a couple of years ago. Energy Drinks will be the tobacco companies of the 2000's. I think 5 Hour is fine if you have maybe one a week or less, if you're pounding 2-3 a day, it's not good for you. RedBull has been linked to blood clots, etc.

Energy drinks make me farty.

Ugh. I want to puke when I see their commercials. They can't be good for you. That much caffeine (they won't even tell you how much -- that's a bad sign) and taurine and whatever else they dream up, all in just 2 ounces! Ugh.

Had a bunch of vodka red bulls one night -- the hangover the next day and how sick my body felt convinced me that the red bull was much much worse for my body than the vodka.
