Funny thing is, former Continental planes were operational today. Only former United planes were grounded. Apparently they use two different systems to calculate weight and balance and United's farked up

For the life of me, I can't figure out why United decided to go with Continental's horrible ticketing system, website, and OnePass program. United's Mileage Plus was far superior, and their website was modern and easy to navigate -- Continental's looked like it was coded by a teenager in 1998...and now United's still does!

How United, which was in bankruptcy less than 10 years ago, was able to buy and ruin one of the few airlines that didn't need a bailout is way beyond me.

Flying United on Saturday from MCO to ORD to YVR. Not looking forward to it if they can't fix their shiat in time.

I flew United a few weeks ago on my honeymoon. The flight attendant found out and gave us a free bottle of wine.

This is a blessing in disguise. If the computers are down, it might spare thousands of innocent victims from the horrors of flying United.

Delta for me is the worst. But hell, we're comparing all the folks in the "special class" when it comes to domestic airlines. Best of the worst and all that.

True airline service can only be had by flying an East Asian carrier (and maybe one or two of the carriers out of the middle east). And you dont even have to fly business or first to get good service.

I suppose there will be a "computer outage" surcharge added to all the fliers today.

Unfortunately there's a limited number of those upgrades. And since I booked the flight through Luftansa, I didn't even know I'd be getting on a flight "operated by United" until I got to the airport.

Star Alliance needs to kick out United. Their other carriers are great.
