| Sybarite Awesome. Star Wars dominated my birthday and Christmas wish lists for several years, and I didn't know one boy my age who didn't have at least some Star Wars toys. |

Wow, best selections since the "Hoop and Stick" in 1842 and the induction of "A Rock" from 55,000 B.C. |

All this is going to do is make me kick myself for not keeping my Boba Fett with actual shooting missle. That being said, i do try to collect older toys and my son likes older toys to newer ones.Mainly loves the older Transformers because they don't fall apart when you try to transform them like the new POS ones do |

OMG, I had a gig there recently--whoo, hoo! What's even more bizarrely coincidental is that my chain-reaction gadget I created is kinda-sorta related to dominoes. Good to see them incorporated into the Hall of Fame--they actually have a display with Lionel trains that tries to incorporate every Hall of Fame toy in the design from Tinkertoys to Play-Doh. The Toy Hall of Fame is part of the National Toy Museum / Strong Museum in Rochester, New York and is well worth the visit. They have an awesome collection of vintage arcade video games in mint condition and I went bonkers playing old classics like Dig Dug and Food Fight. They have a huge assortment of other games from dollhouses of the 1800s to Star Wars action figures. The first floor of the museum has one of the largest children's museums in the country. They also have an awesome indoor butterfly garden on top of that. And if you're in Rochester, definitely be sure to check out the George Eastman House, especially if you're a fan of old movie equipment... |

almostsane: You actually succeeded in making me a little homesick for my hometown......and you forgot to mention the Rochester Museum and Science Center: also a wonderful place to spend the day! Unfortunately, I wasn't there long enough to visit the Science Center. Wasn't that the place that was down the street from the Eastman House? BTW, I did walk along the Gennesee River (sp?) all the way up to the High Falls power plant; it was a really nice walk. It was cool, too, that Rochester had a tiny skyway system of their own, probably on par with the small ones in Rochester, Minnesota or Duluth... |

Jonathan: Hey! All - All right. Let's not - Let's not not do anything crazy here. Andrew Wells: That's a limited edition, 1979 mint condition Boba Fett. Warren Meers: All right, dude, chill. You can still make it right. You know you don't wanna do this. |

One weird thing about Rochester, though, was I thought there were an inordinate number of people in the downtown area talking to themselves, but I thought maybe that was my imagination. Found out later that the State of New York keeps a big mental hospital there :) |

Speaking of games, I just signed on with a games company as a consultant to develop a new toy product based on one of my techniques--and they want to put Yours Truly's face on the box as part of the licensing agreement. I'd love to disclose the game, which should be out by July, but I'm not sure Fark is the best place... |

GoSlash27: No Legos?? This is the Rock and roll hall of fame of toys. >:( IIRC, there were Legos in the National Toy Museum. I think they even had a Lego structure in the Lionel train display cabinet where every Hall of Fame toy was included in the design... |

Heineken Skywalker: One of the saddest days of my childhood, they day I returned from school to find my dog had chewed the head of my Chewbacca. My dog chewed on my Wicket the Ewok doll (I was a kid and liked the Ewoks) and that made me sad. |

| Noticeably F.A.T. RedVentrue: lordargent: dominoes are not a toy, they're serious business Yup. A game, not a toy. I suppose it depends on if you are lining them up to score points or lining them up to knock them down. |
||
| Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom I never understood dominoes. You just set them up and then tip one over and watch them all fall in succession. Is the goal to make the most intricate path or something? |

Take them to a Kinko's and they can print them out for ya. And RAH Joes > Star Wars figs. |

I was at a motorcycle race in Pittsburgh, PA and that was one of the first things one of the Australian racers brought up when he found out I'd grown up in Rochester! His companions had insisted he needed to experience the Garbage Plate: he was astounded that they not only expected him to eat it but to pay for the privilege........ this is from someone weaned on Vegemite. |

Noticeably F.A.T. I suppose it depends on if you are lining them up to score points or lining them up to knock them down. You're slamming them on the table so hard that the spall injures the other players. |

The Toy Hall of Fame a few years ago allowed Raggedy Ann to be admitted. This is many years after she at one time was considered a possible Disney character... She was at the Disney studio then thrown off the property. Walt had her removed on a morals clause in her contract. Because of so much screaming near Pinocchio's dressing room, They entered his dressing room and found Raggedy Ann sitting on Pinocchio's face screaming, "LIE to ME!, Lie to Me!" |

Except that action figures aren't toys, to avoid tariffs. Enjoying the rewards of not being a toy and then being proclaimed a Hall of Fame toy does seem a bit odd. |
