Gautier says the platform was not in active production

Whether that means it's connected to the reservoir or not is another story, but hopefully that means it isn't, and that everybody aboard is OK.

This couldn't possibly true, because I saw a BP commercial on tv that said everything was just fine now and that the beaches are more beautiful than ever!

Now 2 dead, 2 missing. Not drilling at a deep water site like the BP rig.

Apparently the fire is out or at least contained now. The platform is non-productive, i.e. not drilling anything. They were apparently preparing it to go back into production. There is no leaking well or anything else like that.

Mine too.

Thank goodness we refine the oil out at see where the waste doesn't contaminate anything.
I mean anything important or tracable.
