In other news, several millennium after the death of some very clever Egyptian architects, we still can't sort out "pavement". |

How oh how did people manage to walk across the ground before the invention of pavement? |
||
| WordsnCollision
If only there were some readily available interlocking bricks people could use to conduct repairs... |
||
| waterrockets
Anyone who might trip and injure/kill themselves while walking and smartphoning, deserves to be injured/killed, in spite of the nature of the obstacle that "caused" it. |

Oh, Canada - Even your crumbling infrastructure is cute. |

I think people are ignoring the real story here: the missing pylon. Where could it be? Who could have taken it? What do they intend to do with it. It should make for some interesting news in the coming days. |

I don't think they compressed their underlayment adequately. Either that, or it is getting washed out somehow. |

Nothing a little crushed gravel, polymeric sand, and avoidance of the lowest bidder wouldn't have prevented. |

Came for Mayhem and destruction. Leaving unfulfilled. May have to watch Lohan in Liz & Dick to get my fix. . |

Someone should take a bag of sand, two screwdrivers and a rubber mallet out there and spend 10 minutes fixing it. I mean, really. That could spread and take in the whole county. |

I'm stunned....how can people live like this |

In some brillant investigative reporting that only requires walking half a block in Toronto, the Star finds a single location where the interlocking sidewalk bricks have sunk....... ignoring the other half million examples across the city. |

They obviously don't drive the Gardiner very often. Still, it's better there than Montreal... |

Maybe in Canada, you get sued by the city if you try that in the United States. That being said, I'd fix it before writing an article about it. ![]() /Since no one has been thoughtless enough to hotlink the photo. |
||
| Pardon Me Sultan
Not News: The Toronto Star "fixer" isn't aware of the 311 number to call for exactly these sorts of things. Good to see the Star is as inept at general civic awareness as they are unable to produce a readable newspaper. |

I'm taking this screenshot to my lawyer to see if a breach of the peace has occurred here and if I've been assaulted by the words you've written. This is America, Buddy...you just can't throw out slander like this. Who do you think you are? WBC? /really, don't know the song //vaguely know of the band ///Thanks for pointing out my lost youth |

It's news because The Maple Leafs are what usually are associated with collapses in Toronto. |
||
| stanhapsburg
Is this the first time that "Toronto" and "collapses" are used in a FARK headline and it's not about the Leafs? |

[j.wigflip.com image 620x400] /one of my images about a Timmies Eating contest. Hey now, my in-law's basement literally IS a maple syrup reserve, since they make it and use it in place of sugar most of the time (it's great in coffee). They don't look anything like that. Lordfortuna and I use it too, about a quart a week for coffee, and while I'm fat, it's not because of that. Also all their kids (6 of them) get to steal as much as they want whenever they visit, despite none of them actually helping with the preparation for several years now... *grumble* |

Hey, you can't blame them, they had good intentions... |

Pardon Me Sultan: Not News: The Toronto Star "fixer" isn't aware of the 311 number to call for exactly these sorts of things. Good to see the Star is as inept at general civic awareness as they are unable to produce a readable newspaper. Most of the time, stuff gets published in The Fixer because 311 hasn't responded to complaints. It's basically public-shaming the city into doing its job. |
