Welcome to the new America

You thought partisanship was bad prior to the election? You ain't seen nothing yet

As Graham denounced the Obama years, Newsmax's Kathleen Walter asked, "So we've become too secular a nation? How do we bring God back into government?" Graham replied:

Maybe God will have to bring our nation down to our knees-to where you just have a complete economic collapse. And maybe at that point, maybe people will again begin to call upon the name of almighty God.

Jefferson weeps.

Enjoy America while you can. The economy is gonna tank come Jan. There will be no deal for the fiscal cliff.

I don't know how anyone can hear that and think, "hmm, makes sense, let's hope God ruins the country before Obama does because Obama wants to ruin the country and God will save us, by ruining the country".

Then they wonder why people don't respect them and their views.

Why is this moronic farkwit given any attention at all? He's a preacher. He isn't someone with any sort of credentials that gives any weight to his opinions. He and those like him are only newsworthy because they say shocking & controversial things.

I can only hope meltdowns like this further marginalize the Christian right.

Who am I kidding? Millions accept this crap as gospel and will pray for it to happen.

Remember kids,

Obama had 4 years prior to this to totally destroy America, but the good Christian Right prevented him from doing so.

But now that he's won re-election, IT'S TOTALLY GOING TO HAPPEN. LIKE, FOR SURE!

"In the last four years, we have begun to turn our backs on God," he said. "We have taken God out of our education system...
I'm OK with this.
...We have taken him out of government...
No, we did that over two hundred years ago, we've managed.
...You have lawyers that sue you every time you mention the name of Jesus Christ in any kind of a public forum."
Yeah, that doesn't happen, except in your fear mongering for cash.
Jesus Christ.

So, it is better that the US is destroyed than to let the US Constitution stand. Understood, so would you like help packing your bags Graham?

Because he's the son of Billy Graham. The only reason he gets any attention at all is because of his association with his father. Otherwise, he'd be marginalized like the non-Python Terry Jones.

Yeah, I know. It still torks me off, though. I wish more media outlets would take the position of, "we aren't going to air your comments because *religious-nut-says-crazy-shiat* isn't news."

If I understand Mr. Graham correctly, he hopes that a substantial economic crisis in the United States of America will cause the populace to become so desperate that they irrationally seek a supernatural solution, enabling individuals such as himself to attain sufficient popular support for institution of a theocracy.

I believe that I should purchase additional ammunition at this time.

I also don't think that there will be a deal by January, but I think a lot of people are overestimating its effects. Even if unaddressed, the impact is going to be over the course of the next year and a half or so (as the defense cuts take place and the payroll taxes get taken out of people's paychecks, and when people finally pay their income taxes (depending on their withholdings, I suppose) between January and April of 2013. In the meanwhile, both Obama and Congress will have a lot of room to negotiate after Jan 1st because the baseline for taxes will be higher, and if Obama pursues his current tax proposal it will be a tax cut compared to the baseline. That will make it easier for Republicans who signed the Norquist pledge to pass it.

Well, he may get his wish. With all of the States that are refusing to set up State Healthcare Exchanges the Affordable Healthcare Act may crash and burn right on the runway. I would assume that the sole purpose for refusing to set up the exchanges is to force that outcome.

From his point of view it's more like the fires in Colorado Springs this summer. "You built out in the woods, you refused to cut firebreaks, and then you cut the budget for the fire department. What did you think was going to happen?"
