Not victim blaming here, but if you really want situational awareness, you need to pull these things out of your head when you are out and about.

In my experience people don't get KTFO for no reason. Usually, people get KTFO for very good reasons and their friends shrug and go "yeah, you kind of had that coming."

While I agree that situational awareness is certainly helpful, would her (possibly) turning around have somehow helped this poor woman? Probably would've just ended the same way, maybe worse--broken nose/face, then falling and smashing the back of her skull on the sidewalk.

Which is completely farking stupid, in my opinion. You want people to possibly recognize the person on the street in order to notify the police or something, and a big part of the description is the guys skin colour.
