Yes, I'm sure the Russians are 'eager' to share even more with the Chinese at this point. Of all their neighbors, only the Chinese have the numbers to be a threat to the Russians. And with their deteriorating nuclear arms, I wonder how long it'll be before we hear about 'long-standing claims' on Siberian territory from the Chinese...

"Shoigu said Russia would like to strengthen the two militaries' mutual trust and deepen military cooperation, the report said."

What could possibly go wrong?

Yea...those aren't American guns raining down in that part of the world. The cold war never ended, it just took a rest for a little while.

Given how addicted the US is to military spending, China and Russia won't actually need to bother engaging in an actual arms race, they'd just need to look like they're trying to start one and then let America bankrupt itself with a further spending orgy to stay ahead.

Announcing closer ties would seem like a good first step, soon to be followed by a joint development project for a new defence system / aircraft. Of course it would also serve their interests if America were to somehow get dragged into a ground war in the Middle East or suffer another terrorist attack on the mainland.

as long as the worlds power players permit USA currency to be the coin of choice that will never happen. we are well beyond what we can ever hope to repay. it is all funny money with no real meaning. lots of papier mache holding things up, please ignore the man behind the curtain. sadly due to the USA governments military actions for oh so many years yes we are way overdue to be attacked by a lot of really pissed off people. i understand little to nothing of economy, politics or war so my babbling probably resembles that of a uneducated mentally impaired child. i mean no disrespect to uneducated mentally impaired children.

2/3rds of the world's oil supply is under Siberia.

Do I even need to explain the rest?

All you need to do is do a quick google and see that it's already starting to happen. The Chinese are starting to internationalize their currency.

Pffft. China hasn't trusted Russia since The Long March and that's never going to change.

You left out that 7/8ths of that leaks and is lost before it completes the pipeline trip.

And done in one. Nailed it, and nailed it hard. Very well done.
