I have an acquaintance who seems to get mugged/robbed/taken in a high speed chase/etc pretty often. He is way too trusting, has a drinking problem and uses a lot of drugs, and it's usually tied to getting drunk and trying to score from some dude he's met a few times in a bar and only knows the first name of.

I'm sure there are other causes but that's the one I was assuming. Dude got drunk at a bar, tried to score some blow, and ended up getting robbed. He might know a first name or nickname for one or all of them, but that might be all he can really give the cops.

I had aquaintances like this when I was 18 but none of them would touch me because Marian was sweet on me. NOBODY crossed Marian.
