Maybe this kid was hooked on "real" drugs. |
||
| A Shambling Mound Would be nice if the story mentioned what exactly his son was in rehab for. My guess is something a bit more destructive than pot. But hey, you know, this gets another dangerous felon off the streets. It starts with a little gardening and ends with them running around looking for 16 year old girls to sucker-punch. We're all better off for it. |

The only reason people get in trouble over weed is because it's illegal. /high thought |

All rehabs should supply quality weed to the patients. Makes kicking real drugs much easier. |

My dad should have grown corn, barley and hops. |

FTFA: 'Are they telling me those plants are worth all that money? To be honest it was as easy growing them as tomatoes. Dont let anyone ever try to convince you that you need a state of the art hydroponic setup and expensive HID lighting to grow good weed. We threw a Sour Diesel "teen" (clone that has sat in the clone tray at the shop and grown legs) into a co-workers backyard in ~Juneish and harvested a whole bunch of stinky tasty nuggets in mid-October. That plant only got attention maybe once a week when I came around. Still had 2 weeks to finish even, pulled it early because co-workers wife was paranoid the kids from the high school couple blocks away were gonna steal it, they all walk home past the house and the plant was starting to smell out to the street when it got breezy. Even 2 weeks early and with minimal care, the flowers still had the strength of the "top shelf" pricy stuff selling at shops around here. We only ever even gave it local "roadside" dairy fertilizer once, dug a hole in the backyard, heaped a bit of fertilizer at the bottom and then piled on a $5 bag of generic potting soil from Home Depot. If youve ever seen a happy cannabis plant outside, they often have a way of looking crisp and fresh with leaves pointing up towards the sky, and this plant lived like that. It was covered in more resin than many pricy strains and it was delicious after a couple weeks curing in the jars. That $25 clone turned into $750 and all we did was fertilize it once and water it once in awhile. /And that was just this season |

It sort of amazes me how much work, thought, and effort goes into cultivation of marijuana. It seems like a fun hobby to cultivate these beautiful, alien looking strains with the right mixtures of gases, soils, and temperatures. I think it's something I could get into, provided it were legal, and I actually had an interested in the final product. /Never done pot in my life. |

A pensioner grew cannabis with a street value of £12,000 to pay for a drugs rehabilitation course for his son, a court heard. Frank Jones, 74, a former oil rig worker, admitted producing nearly 400 grams of cannabis. 12000/400=30 £30 per gram? £852 per ounce? Where are they selling it, inside a prison? "He told Barnsley Magistrates Court he believed the plants were worth only £2,000-£3,000" 3000/400=7.5 £7.50 per gram, which is £213 per ounce. Sounds like the pensioner has his finger on the pulse more than the cop maths the magistrates or the paper were doing... |

If that is the sort of thing that is interesting to you then have a look at orchids. There is big money in breeding new strains of orchid. The only use for the final product with orchids is to look at the beautiful alien looking plants. Also it`s bee porn. You would be a porn manufacturer but for bees... |

dready zim: Sounds like the pensioner has his finger on the pulse more than the cop maths the magistrates or the paper were doing... Ask yourself this: Do you want to be a cop who busts a $10k or $1000 drug op? Two kinds of people become cops: Family Traditionalists (dad, dad's dad, dad's dad's dad etc), and Cowboys. Cowboys don't go in for piddly shiat, and Traditionalists want to do the Fambly Name Proud. |

That idea seems half baked. |

| chatikh I don't think weed sends people to rehab, so it's ok. Weed is the safest drug in the world when you ignore the potential for cancer from burning it. Nobody dies from the actual drug. It is possible to overdose on THC but it would have to be in purified/pill form. And even then it's extremely rare. |
