| Somacandra The country is still deeply divided, obviously. I'm sure some people are more than a little upset that President Morsi seems more concerned with the plight of the Palestinians rather than Egypt's own poor and dispossessed. |
||
| cman Well, at least Egypt's revolution wont go the way of the Russian revolution where you had one tyrant replace another under the guise of "freedom" |

Don't they know it's black Friday? Why aren't they out shopping? |

Anyone have a handle on how much foreign interference we had during our own revolution? I know the French helped out some but I doubt to the extent we've been meddling in these recent revolutions. Can't be healthy for either of us. |

Keep fighting, Egypt. It's go time. Wring some human rights out of the die-hard muslim government officials. There is a such thing as objectivity. I'd rather the US had Christian fundamentalists than what they've got over there. |

Difficult for, say, the Dutch to mosey on over to the Americas to start wreckin' shiat. |

Taking up more power in a time of crisis? Sounds like something from George W's playbook. |

That's why it's important to get Liberty Bell production going early. |
||
| RealAmericanHero It's pretty funny how Egypt worked out. All the seculars and liberals basically brought the revolution to a peaceful conclusion before too much violence could start, then in the election the people that didn't do much but had a lot of good street cred for unrelated things they've done in the community got the most votes, completely against the wishes of the people that really made the revolution happen in the first place. I guess what I mean by that awkward sentence was that this was entirely predictable. |

Why must we so blatantly mix religion and politics? Religionists have houses of worship, governmentalists have houses of laws. Neutral corners, everybody. If your system has value and relevance, it'll sell itself - but only to the extent it has value and relevance for the individual who accepts it. Start forcing it on the population at large and there'll be revolt. |

Yeah, who gives a fark. I'll only vent out my Internet Tough Guyness if and when they start destroying the ancient Egyptian artefacts. Oi, Camel-Jockey, leave them pyramids alone! |

| WizardofToast So how is this going to be spun? The Muslim Brotherhood were considered the boogyman to some western media outlets yet the protesters are now using their offices for marshmallows. |

I know the French helped out some but I doubt to the extent we've been meddling in these recent revolutions. Can't be healthy for either of us. Considering our revolution was fought against the British empire, had significant military aid from the French, our democracy was largely imported and inspired by multiple foreign enlightenments...western intervention in the dark age/civil war/revolution in the middle east is non-existent by comparison. |

[www.mobygames.com image 850x637] France's gift of a Frigate and some troops is usually pretty important, as it will generally come during heated combat with the Royal troops. That's why it's important to get Liberty Bell production going early. As much as I was a fan of all things Civ up to CIV: IV - Beyond the Sword (best one ever), I could never seem to get the hang of Colonization. Even on 'easy' I found the game biatchingly hard once things start getting tense. |
||
| badhatharry I guess they are having second thoughts about their election choice. I mean, who thought the Muslim Brotherhood would be so oppressive? |

Frigates are target practice for destroyers. In Civ IV anyway. |
