I'd like to know more about how they were outed. It seems interesting a forensic analysis could lead to more than just suspicion. |

| Because People in power are Stupid RoyBatty: I'd like to know more about how they were outed. It seems interesting a forensic analysis could lead to more than just suspicion. Attorneys have a notoriously poor understanding of IT. A simple "double proxy" (with fake names and gift American Express debitcards for payments) on both subscriptions ought to be sufficient to block a private investigator trying to prove something. Most likely they just had accounts with email addresses that led back to themselves. |

So I seriously thought that first set of pictures was of just one dude in and out of drag. Uncanny. |

MisterLoki: So I seriously thought that first set of pictures was of just one dude in and out of drag. Uncanny. Same thought. |

FTA: A federal prosecutor has been demoted after anonymously posting abusive comments on an online news site. Well, apparently not. |

MisterLoki: So I seriously thought that first set of pictures was of just one dude in and out of drag. Uncanny. I had the same reaction. Maybe separated at birth? |

In a lot of cases, it's like a fingerprint. Anyone who is trained in such things can pick out your particular idiosyncracies and word choices if they have a wide enough sample to work from, even if the writer thinks they're being careful. I've caught people doing cut&pastas in research papers when their syntax and word choices suddenly changed, and I'm not even good at it--and that's how I've spotted a couple alt trolls here on Fark, too. So someone who really knows how to do it could probably catch someone with reasonable suspicion. |

Judging by her expression, she looks like a rather boring person that took great joy in posting abusive comments. To the point it may have brought on waves of ecstasy and pleasure. It's really a shame no one could have introduced her to Fark for her outlet. |

RoyBatty: I'd like to know more about how they were outed. It seems interesting a forensic analysis could lead to more than just suspicion. Yeah, same here. There's a step missing between "forensic analysis" and "demoted". |

Ergo, concordantly, E Plurubus Unum. |

Most likely they just had accounts with email addresses that led back to themselves. Agreed re: attorney tech savvy. However the younger attorneys (I worked at a major USAO) are coming in with a decent technical skill set and more importantly, an intuitive understanding of what's possible and what questions to bring to an expert. |

| Kittypie070 Hahahaha. I know I have unique patterns in my silly scribblings. Is there a way to....obscure them? I'm curious. |

This just confirms what a read a number of years ago: when it comes to politics, New Orleans isn't really in the southern US, it's more like northern Central America. |

If you resort to posting online in such a way as to endanger a prosecution, your case must be pretty weak. Someone with a good case would most likely know how to keep all crowing quiet, while someone who keeps getting slapped down might resort to online carping. |

Holy crap. First Assistant U.S. Attorney is a big deal job. WTF? She is second in command at that office. Her boss (the US Attorney for Eastern Louisiana) is directly appointed by the President. |

Kittypie070: Hahahaha. I know I have unique patterns in my silly scribblings. Is there a way to....obscure them? I'm curious. Try a Google Translation Round the World Circle Jerk. Pick 4 languages, translate to each, then back to the original. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is what Meow says the Dog does, but she chooses the same languages each time. If you choose different languages each time, it will be pretty hard to figure out who you really are. Also, use a kidnap font if you can. |

Mr ugly landfill guy must really have done something wrong if he's hiring private detectives to rid himself of pesky attorneys who are writing nasty blogs about him. If he was not doing something corrupt, he would have just laughed it off. Government lawyers are a cliquish bunch and him orchestrating the firing of two of them will not be overlooked. I'd bet dollars to donuts that this will lead to the Feds keeping him under a microscope. Looks like the Streisand effect may strike again. |

Having an opinion someone else doesn't like and expressing it is not what trolling is. Banning someone for having an opinion someone else doesn't like and expressing it should not be a crime. The part where she commented on pending cases is definitely crossing a line though. |

Makes me wonder why my post from NOLA.com all those months ago about Sal getting fired over trolling and watch out farkers didn't get greenlight, but now that there is a second person in the office getting fired over trolling AND it is on the Daily Mail....well then, GREEN LIGHT THAT MOTHERFARKER. |
