| Snarcoleptic_Hoosier If that's the case, there would be 11 tornadoes and a UFO attack as well. |

In related news, subby's mom rolled out of bed? On a serious note, is a 2.1 noticeable as far as earthquakes go or would you only be aware once the USGS told you that's what it was? |
||
| katerbug72
Can you really feel a 2.1? We had a 4 something here a couple years ago and I didn't feel a thing. |
||
| ronin7
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes /map/ By default it doesn't even show things below 2.5. |
||
| SithLord
I haven't even gotten my invite for beta testing yet. |

2.1 doesn't even make the news in California or Western Nevada. I thought this article was going to be about the roller coaster in the ocean, but that's an entirely different kind of sim altogether! |

And where was New Jersey's earthquake prediction team in all this? Oh, that's right, it never existed. Well, they can't say they weren't warned. |

| Captain Steroid Great! At this rate, we can expect Bowser to show up around the 21st! :P |

[27.media.tumblr.com image 311x143] Just lower taxes to 0% in January, raise them to 100 in December, and repeat. Works like a charm. /if I remember that trick right from 20+ years ago //worked in version 1, not 2 |

"SimCopter One reporting heavy traffic!" Oh really, SimCopter One? *clicks on SimCopter with pointer* "GOING DOWN!" |
||
| Saberus Terras semiotix: [27.media.tumblr.com image 311x143] I hated that guy in SC2K. Especially when that damn road maintenance bug kicked in and that slice of the budget soared beyond the GDP of the farking Simnation. Put drop it by even 1%, one goddamned percent, and your roads turned to rubble in a year. |

Isn't there some conspiracy theory about the government and extensive underground tunnels? |

2.1? That's strong enough to make a plate rattle on a good day, right? Strongest I've been in was the 2001 in Seattle. Not very strong, relatively, but still quite impressive (at least to me). |
||
| quickdraw 2.1 in an area built entirely of crumbling brick and rusting steal could get a tad dusty. |

Dwangerous: I thought this article was going to be about the roller coaster in the ocean, but that's an entirely different kind of sim altogether! "that's an entirely different kind of sim" I guess those tiny ones can be felt back east because of a more coherent bedrock that transmits motion better, as well as the quakes usually being far, far shallower. I tend to suspect isostatic rebound in random quakes like this in the continental interior. I wonder if all the weight of water from the Hurricane coming shore then flowing back to the sea can affect the plate enough to trigger quakes? Out here in California, a quake usually has to be a 3 or higher to be felt, but the rock that makes up the crust here is pretty much pulverized and twisted, dampening the transmission of seismic waves. |

SithLord: I haven't even gotten my invite for beta testing yet. I am waiting for it to come out, but I know that I need a better PC to get it to run better. starrion: Nuke plant explosion? I used to hate those. And be prepared for rolling blackouts. More than half of jersey's power comes from nukes. Atleast only a small amount of jersey's population would injured, I think more people in Delaware would be. |

| harbingerofdoom
no way... a 2.1 huh? just for some comparison... per usgs there have been about 90 2.0 or greater in california over the last week |
||
| themasterdebater
....a 2.1? Meh. I don't roll out of bed for anything under a 5.0. /Then again I might be tossed out of bed... violently. |
||
| themasterdebater
Saberus Terras: Put drop it by even 1%, one goddamned percent, and your roads turned to rubble in a year. Sounds legit. |
