"I went across the street to the Mardi Gras Champagne Room, where we were having a drink, and the building where I work blew up," she said. She said she watched her livelihood go up before her eyes. Isn't that a stripper's job? |

Ugh.I went to this strip club once. Lemme assure everyone that nothing of value was lost. |
||
| oukewldave
"The building was flattened, and the remains of the club look like a huge cavity" That's what she said. |

They must have taken lessons from that 'furnace malfunction'. I hear from my friends in Springfield that the Strippers were told they had 20 minutes to get out, naked or not. |
||
| Mrtraveler01 There's video of the actual explosion on this link. I wonder if it turns out to be the same thing that happened in Indianapolis and the owners blew up the building for the insurance money? |
||
| Indubitably
To blow too hard |
||
| Devolving_Spud I know it can be pretty intense if it's been 4 or 5 days, but jeez... |
||
| KrispyKritter Moochie and Papie are okay, so it's cool. |
||
| martid4 Could have been fart lighting, they are getting pretty desperate for entertainment. |

Am I the only one who thinks it's awesome, potentially convenient, and just slightly wrong that there's a day care next door? |
||

Is it just me, or is that article just a little too long for this story? |

There is no smoking in the boom boom room. |

||
| ZAZ Must be a wonderful part of town. The official sounding guy (mayor?) doing the news conference on WWLP called it the "entertainment" district. |

Holyoke is even shiattier than Springfield. I do enjoy Amherst & Northampton, however. /Microbrews at Northampton Brewing Company FTW. |

oukewldave: "The building was flattened, and the remains of the club look like a huge cavity" That's what she said. "... leaving only pancaked, dangling remnants and a raw c-section scar across the blow-ravaged and hazardous ruins of the property." |

Is this the suspiciously named Megan LaBombard? There's something a bit off-kilter about her. I suspect foul play. |
||

Sorry to hear about the injuries. From the reports it was an awe-inspiring explosion. /Wish i could have seen it. |

"I feel lucky we got out," Debbie said. She said all her work clothes were lost. No loss of life, but moderate to severe loss of thong. |
||
| HaNaGaijin
I used to pass through Springfield all the time in the early 90's... the pictures after the explosion actually look exactly as I remember the town. |

The Day Care center next door was also damaged. Most places at least have the pretense to zone adult businesses further away than next door. |
||

My favorite from the article: ... The Square One day care next door was heavily damaged. So convenient: drop off your kid, go next door to work and drop off your clothes |

This wasn't a gas explosion. The experts here have taught me well. You can tell by the pixels that is was C4. //snerk |

This was another article from the local paper. |

FTA: "It rocked us so hard the windows smashed. It felt like an earthquake or a large explosion." So, it rocked you like an earthquake or other natural disaster? I might have compared it to a hurricane, myself. |

HighZoolander: Am I the only one who thinks it's awesome, potentially convenient, and just slightly wrong that there's a day care next door? Conveniently the daycare is also the local FEDA* office. *Future Exotic Dancers of America |

Springfield had tons of awesome, if you wind back the clock about 80 years. Rolls Royce had their only American-approved coachbuilders in Springfield, and Indian motorcycles were based there as well. Fast-forward to now, and Springfield is the kind of place you end up if you decide Worcester is too highbrow, or if the ceaseless reggaton has pushed you out of Holyoke. /Lived in Western MA for four years //Wouldn't wish it on anyone ///Yes, there are some nice things, but on the whole, no. |

Gaius: God pulled a Sodom and Gomorrah and smote that den of sin. If there were a God enacting judgement, he may want to find the place with more immoral people. Maybe a place full of corruption. |

BitwiseShift: The Day Care center next door was also damaged. Most places at least have the pretense to zone adult businesses further away than next door. Then where are the strippers supposed to take their kids before their shift starts? I mean really, I thought I would open a line of day cares, but someone already beat me too it. |

Worthington Street is a true cancer on the city, except for the fact it has one of the oldest poolhalls in North America as a tenant. |
