| KrispyKritter UberNeuman: Who shot J.R.'s liver? Bingo! I wonder how many times you get to the top of a Donor List because of TV Celebrity status. I'm guessing at least twice for this bottle of booze to last to 81. |

| The Downfall Never watched "Dallas," but I enjoyed watching "I Dream of Jeannie" on Nick at Nite's Block Party Summer. 81 is a good run. Goodbye, Larry Hagman. |

| Gwendolyn I always think of him as Major Nelson more than JR. I think it was because of all that Nick at Night I watched when my kids were babies and they wouldn't sleep. |

Who will control Jeannie now that her master has gone? :( |

| Porous Horace
He wanted to tell them he wasn't feeling feel but it happened on one of his "no talking" days. Sad. Had he not been so inflexible he might very well still be with us today. I also feel bad for his three sons: Beaver, Opie and Granpa. |

| FirstNationalBastard OtherLittleGuy: IlGreven: And thus, TNT's hopes for a third season of the Dallas revival go right into the toilet. It's a soap. They set up a "Next Generation" rivaliry already. The ratings on Dallas: TNG skew old, meaning mostly old people were watching, probably because of JR and Bobby. Now, the main attraction is old. Anyway, I never could understand why Major Nelson was such a tightass. You got a hot blonde calling you "Master", wanting to make your every dream come true, and you're too busy worrying about your stupid NASA job to take advantage of it? C'mon, man, she could have you in space literally in the blink of an eye! Then you could get that out of your system and get down to using her like a muppet. /Goodnight, Spare Liver Man. |

Rest in peace Major Nelson. Dallas was an awesome show and it's fitting that even his fellow cast members were by his side. |

| spman What a shame, Dallas is without a doubt one of the best shows in the history of all television, and JR Ewing will forever be an icon of the soap opera genre. JR was an integral part of Season 2 of the new series, I don't see how they could put his character on a bus without killing the show. Hell, he was the best part of the revival, and quite frankly my interest in the show without him has now dropped to almost zero. RIP Larry |

I would've thought he was a lot older than 81 from the number of times over the last 20 years I've said "Holy shiat Hagman's still alive? |

spman: Dallas is without a doubt one of the best shows in the history of all television Not really. It was a mildly interesting soap opera that was aired in prime time. Best shows in the history of television might include The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Monty Python and anything else that is nothing like Dallas. |

Stop pretending to be hip from referencing the only old show you know. |
