Joseph "Jo Jo" McCray, of Arlington, was located alive and well by a ground search team around 9:30 Sunday morning.


Jo Jo is a kid who thought he was a hunter, but we knew this wouldn't last.

I started "hunting" with my dad when I was about 8 years old. I carried a .22 rifle, but no bullets. I was not there to shoot. I was there to learn how to move through the woods, how to properly carry a rifle, and how to clean animals after my dad shot them. It was a ton of fun!

Tough times man... some folks just got to get rid of one of their kids by setting them off in the woods. He had no weapon, it was all up to him to see how badly he wanted to live.

Cell service or not; there are ways of preventing this from happening. Like paying some got-damn attention to your kid.

A whistle would have been a good idea, but "no cellphone service" isn't much of an excuse. You don't need a base station for an FRS/GMRS radio or an old-school walkie-talkie.
