| Fark In The Duck FTFA: "Under the handgun proposal, he said, hunters would not be permitted to just point a revolver at an alligator and fire away. Rather they would have to catch the animal first, using a harpoon, spear gun or other approved method. Once they get the alligator to their boat, they could use the handgun to dispatch it. The current approved method involves the use of what's called a bang stick, a stick with one end that fires a bullet or shotgun shell upon making direct contact with the prey." What could POSSIBLY go wrong with that??? |

Frankly, I Recall "Shoot Them". |

| demaL-demaL-yeH Sounds like fun. Arizona has a HAM hunting permit for collared peccary (javelina - North American "pigs"). "To further curtail hunt pressure and better distribute hunters, permit-only HAM (handgun, archery, and muzzleloader) hunts were initiated in 1974, and archery hunting was limited to permit-only hunting in 1992." /Somebody in Arizona Game and Fish was lighting up fatties in the 70s. |

Now we have to worry about Alligators hunting with handguns? Like they weren't dangerous enough already. |

The Gunslinger Roland: Now we have to worry about Alligators hunting with handguns? Like they weren't dangerous enough already. They're just standing their swamp against the python threat. |

The_Sponge ![]() Approves. |

| jbuist Makes sense to me. Those 'bang stick' things are an AOW (Any Other Weapon), require a $200 tax at the time of manufacture, and a $5 tax whenever you transfer them, and transferring them involves a Class 3 dealer, ATF crawling up your butt, etc. Same thing we require for machine guns. Handguns are a hell of a lot cheaper. |

| Road Rash
Time to start up that part-time business of repairing gunshot holes in boats. |

| Noticeably F.A.T. BoboRod: croesius: Frankly, I Recall "Shoot Them CHOOTEM!". /ftfm I was extremely amused to find boxes of these in a sporting goods store last week |

I want my body to be found when I die, preferably of old age. |
