Silly rabbit. The acquisition of items worth nothing basically for free and their subsequent exchange for thousands of times their actual value is supposed to go from THIS side of the counter to THAT one!

The way I want to be, is stupid enough to actually steal twenty grand worth of jewelry, but smart enough t try to fence it at the scene of the crime..

/Profit/

Chains don't buy jewlrey, chains can't buy any thing

Its just a chain

Subby here.

My original intention for the headline was definition 3b from Merriam Webster

a group of enterprises or institutions of the same kind or function usually under a single ownership, management, or control

and then after typing it realized the pun.

1) Purchase expensive item from jewelry store (i.e. diamond ring). Be sure it's one with a dumb and/or lazy manager. Pay in cash.

2) Purchase identical looking item from different jewelry store (i.e. cubic zirconium ring). Pay in cash.

3) Bring identical looking fake back to first jewelry store with receipt, ask for refund. Be sure to ask for the dumb and/or lazy manager. Collect refund in cash.

4) You have now acquired a real piece of jewelry (i.e. diamond ring) for the price of a decent looking fake (i.e. cubic zirconium ring).

Before you call BS, this scam has already happened many, many times already.
