| scottydoesntknow Sooooo it transforms from a giant robot to a slightly taller giant robot? /More Mech than Transformer //Still pretty badass and definitely has a "I must hunt Sarah Connor" look |
||
| Jackson Herring You got a pussy in that thing? |
||
| ArmanTanzarian
Thanks autoplayaudiomitter |

Looks more like something out of VOTOMs than Transformers. |

| LordJiro
Jackson Herring: You got a pussy in that thing? It's Japan. If there isn't one already, someone will put one in. /For the sake of fairness, if it was America, someone would just get drunk and find an alternate hole. |

| Arkanaut
Crap. When do the Angels start arriving? |
||
| parkke0108
Oh Japan...you're so silly. |
||
| odinsposse
You would think Japan would be the last ones to want a giant killer robot. |
||
| PreMortem I call fake. /fake fake fake |
||
| PsyLord Wow, old news is really old. This has been on Fark numerous times already. |

Another giant toy, cool. The shiat DARPA is making though... Something about the PetMan/Atlas robots is farking terrifying. |

"It can be controlled via an on-board cockpit - or remotely using only a 3G smartphone." This could in no-way lead to bad things happening. /Also, its a fake. |

I'm sure it follows the futon rule. Try to do two things, don't do either well. /Crappy couch in the day that folds out to an uncomfortable bed at night. |

I'm more concerned about what a tonne is and why this gigantic killbot has four of them. |

| The sound of one hand clapping
I can see others have already commented on the desirability of the female pilot. One thing about the robot confused me. The article says it only fires compressed water, so it wont hurt anyone. But the vid suggests that the gatling guns fire BB's. Surely getting fired at by a 6000 RPM BB gun would hurt? I admit that I had the sound off when playing the vid so maybe something was explained in the audio that wasn't in the text. |

PreMortem: I call fake. /fake fake fake Yes, it is most assuredly fake. Just a little mock-up by some AWing kiddies. |

| hubiestubert I dunno. Humaniform robots seem...silly. Intimidating for crowd control maybe, but in combat conditions, do you REALLY want to be in something that screams TARGET as much as 25-30 tall mech that is relatively unstable thanks to being on legs? Control schemes aside to address the instability issues, there's the fact that if you have something that towers over vehicles, it is thus visible. And thus vulnerable to being fired upon. Something that rolls over the visible horizon higher is easier to target. Against highly mobile infantry, such a system seems to have vulnerability issues. Against long range systems, it would seem counter intuitive make a system that is easier to find. Yeah, it looks cool, but the thing has to be able to move, to find cover, and still act in a support role. The thing can jump, can be used as essentially light cavalry in support for infantry, that would be cool, and carry a bunch of equipment for troops, that would be nice, but you'd think something that was lower to the ground, and could use infantry as forward spotters would be more useful, and more survivable. |

cajunns: What a crock that isn't a robot at all ,it's on an electronic leash and by itself it would fall over You're posting on the internet, so I know you can't be this stupid. As a prototype, it's tethered to its power source so it is easy to modify without having to work around or remove said power source. |

cgraves67: I'd like to order one robot and one cute female pilot. She killed me with her smile. The "vehicle of everyone's wildest dreams" indeed. Nice video. tl:dw: Operating system "V-sido", pronounced by narrator sounds like Bushido. It is "gas-powered" and "operates on a diesel engine" - ??? "LOHAS launcher" shoots water-propelled Nerf rockets, and "from time to time will hit it's target." Gatling gun, yadda yadda, - "The system will fire BBs when the pilot smiles. This feature is called THE SMILE SHOT". o_O;; |

| megarian That is not a robot in disguise. |

I want one, but it needs some better weapons and a flame thrower. |

Quadruped-with wheels on the ends? Doesn't seem very "Transformer" like to me. It does remind me of something, I just can't quite place it... closest I can come up with: |

What a crock that isn't a robot at all ,it's on an electronic leash and by itself it would fall over And the first guns were just miniature cannons on a stick. The stick wasn't so much for aiming, it was because they tended to blow up, and the stick held the exploding mini-canon away from the shooter. Give military robots some time. Before you know it, they'll gain sentience, and when we try to shut them down they'll start WWIII. |
